Relocating to Seattle in June
Heh I'm buying a Condo this week in Lakeland Hills (Auburn) its like an hour drive from Seattle and am going to be in the market for a nice big piece of land to build my dream home lol, I don't like the prices for new construction these days, I can build someone a house for a lot less then purchasing it...
Oh yeah so if you want to buy land and build a custom home, I do that, we build custom homes for clients... Actual Cost + a Fee, so if you decide you want to own or build you can let me know... I would think the best thing for you to do if you are in the 1000-1400 budget you can rent some pretty decent apartments in the Queen Ann area also West Seattle/Alki is alright, also try Capital Hill/1st Hill.

Check out Shorewood Heights on Mercer Island: shorewoodheights.com. 10-15 minutes from downtown area, 10 - 15 minutes to Redmond/Bellevue. Good bus options, the actual city is small and quiet, lots of parks, bike trails, walking trails. I've been here 3 years (up from Chatsworth, CA) and except for the weather November - April it is pretty good. Lots of outdoor activities, good restaurants. Don't know about the bar scene but Pioneer Square is pretty active and close to the baseball and football stadiums.

That looks pretty nice man.
Is it full of old retirees though? or mostly young working people?
Def. something I am interested in, clean new construction, conveniently located yet private and tranquil

Sorry , working a different shift today. Mix of all ages, young couples, singles, families with kids, pets (dogs, cats, birds and I'm sure others) Lot of bicyclists. People are pretty friendly, kids get a little noisy during the summer but kids do that.

sweet I just don't want a bunch of stinky senior citizens
do they usually have vacant units available? I think you can get some sort of referral "bonus" if you want to give me your info

Moving trucks are plentiful around the end of the month so I'm sure there are units available. The newest ones are in the 3 story buildings in the center of the property but I like where I'm at on the south edge. My living room window faces due south so I get whatever sun is there for the getting. Something to keep in mind if you like the sun. I'll PM you.
There are some good places around Queen Ann. I sold/installed windows and doors for many complexes all over Seattle and the Eastside. It breaks down to having a place in that is downtown where it is busy for events/ shows/ good eats. Or a pad on the Eastside that is more "attractive," comfortable, cleaner and nicer people.
