FS: Brand new iPhone 3G 8GB Black

I have a brand new Apple iPhone 3g 8GB Black. It was opened at the store to activate, but I never used it.
Asking price: $580 cash, local pickup (Woodland Hills, CA) or $600 shipped ($20 for the Paypal fees). I'll cover the shipping cost.

P.S. I can jailbreak this for you, but that'll most likely void your warranty.

Thanks,
Jeff

did you try selling it on ebay but keep getting scammed? I tried listing my 3g 3 times each time an international bidder saying "hello seller, how can we complete the transaction for the 'product'" I hate ebay scammers..

Um, no. I've sold several iPhones on Ebay, and I've never been scammed. I don't do auctions. I do fixed-price listings, and require immediate Paypal payment. I listed a laptop on Craigslist recently though, and got several scam emails within a few hours.

Best ask questions at your local AT&T store. There's an early cancellation fee applied if you cancel the iPhone package within a certain time period from activation. This IME# may create issues on down the road...

I'd hate to see someone buy this and get screwed due to the IME# being placed on someone else's account.

Plus, anyone who uses this on AT&T needs the iPhone data plan and register the IME#. So, why not buy a new one for $200 and be done with it? This isn't even Jail Broken...

Just food for thought as a few friends have been screwed on buying used iPhones...

So did you purchase this phone straight out or did you sign up with a contract and then cancel it?

1. You don't need to go through AT&T Customer Service to get the phone activated on your account. You can do everything through iTunes without a 2-year contract.

2. There is no early cancellation fee if you "cancel" the iPhone data plan. You can upgrade and downgrade your plan as many times as you want and use a different phone, but in order to use the iPhone 3G, you need an iPhone 3G plan. So, technically, you're not cancelling anything. There's nothing to cancel. You can cancel a contract, but since you didn't get the iPhone from AT&T, you don't have a contract.

3. I've purchased and activated 2-3 different iPhones for personal use, and I've never had a problem with the IMEI #'s.

4. If you buy the iPhone for $200, it comes with a 2 year contract. Duh?

5. I can jailbeak this in 2 mins if need be.

6. Please get your facts straight before you strart threadcrapping. I don't mind you trying to help people out, but please get your facts straight before spreading all these rumors that you don't have first-hand experience with.

P.S. Tell your friends that got screwed buying used iPhones that if they want to get rid of their useless iPhones, I'll gladly buy 'em from them.

Thanks,
Jeff

My service is fine. I've had AT&T/Cingular from the beginning, since 2001 or so. I'm actually using the 16GB iPhone 3G. By the way, if you cancel within 30 days, you would have to return the phone as well. You don't get to keep it. So, before you do anything, I would do some research if I were you.

I purchased the phone for $200 + tax with a 2 year contract, then switched the plan back to my old plan and went back to using my old phone.. but I still keep the 2 year contract. So no, I didn't cancel my contract.
