Sennheiser HD-580 Headphones (modded)

What: Sennheiser HD-580 headphones; stock HD-580 grills & cord, upgraded HD-600 grills (pre-installed), HD-650 cord (pre-installed), and Grado 1/4" to 1/8" adapter

Why: I have 4 sets of headphones...and only one set of ears, LOL. I just don't use these enough to justify keeping them.

Condition: 9/10. Immaculate condition. They look and sound awesome.

Reviews: These cans have a great reputation.

The 580s are in line with the 600s. In fact, the 580s use the same drivers as the 600s, which retail for $400. Aside from cosmetics, the biggest difference between the 580s and 600s is the grills, which I have upgraded.

Besides, the 580s look better than the 595s...LOL.

IF these sounded AS GOOD as hd600's you would not be selling them!! hd600 is amazing

the drivers may be similar but not identical.

bump for some good headphones..

Both HD-580 & HD-600 use the same drivers (the latter supposedly has closer-matching drivers, but still the same drivers nonetheless).

Sennheiser even sells replacement drivers and lists them for both 580 and 600.

I myself can't say they sound as good as the hd600s, but many members on head-fi will attest to this. That said, you're right. They do sound great. But I prefer the 880s. Actually, I should be selling the 990s, but they look so darn cool. Just too warm for my tastes. Trying to use them for a photo shoot before I let them go, though.
