Karen...(we are at the hospital)
hey Guys,
I am in Indianapolis at the hospital with Karen and her family...
her dad just went under the knife or a double lung transplant. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Also, we were talking the other day and she expressed how she felt completely comfortable with you guys up in Chicago. She also thinks that each of you are great people and looks forward to hanging out with you all again. (she even bragged to her friends at work about how much fun it was to go to "just a car show")
Again, please keep her and her dad in your thoughts and prayers as she is having a tough time with it...

I'll definitely be praying for her and her family... I hate going to hospitals... especially when someone I love has to have a serious surgery... Keep us posted...
And yeah, Karen is definitely cool to have around! And I'm glad she felt comfortable with us.. that means we might get to have the two of you at more meets!

Sorry, she doesnt have wireless at her house and her computer was blocked in due to a painting project...
as it stands right now, Her dad's new lungs took amazingly well and they took him off the respirator this morning. Karen, my daughter and I spent 20 hours there before, during and after the 8 hour surgery.
Thank you for everyone that was thinking of her. Previous to this, her dad was only given two years to live with his lungs in the condition they were in (a former smoker) and he was in month 24. Now I know that doesnt mean much, but the fact they had a donor, and they were able to move so quickly on the surgery is a blessing.
I will keep you all posted...

Thanks again to everyone with your comments, thoughts and prayers.
Just found out that Karen's dad is awake and using sign language as means of communication ( he knew a good amount of sign from having two brother in laws that were deaf and mute) as he cannot speak just yet.
He is in Indianapolis Methodist Hospital and Karen is going back to see him tomorrow.

latest update...
Karen's dad is breathing on his own, sounds stronger (his voice) than before the surgery, and is in a room that protects him from airborne infections. He will be there for at least 6 weeks for recovery.
Thank you to everyone who said a prayer and kept him and Karen in your thoughts.
