HFC or test pipes

I have researched this stuff to death and have yet to get a solid opinion or answer. Can any of you guys from SLO MO give me a solid answer here. I want to possibly run MR test pipes.

I am mating them up to some nismo headers over thanksgiving and want Slo Mo to do a tune afterwards.

Should I go with resonated test pipes or HFCs? All i can find are conflicting opinions on here. I am looking for a professional opinion or someone who has them and knows what they are talking about.

It depends on what you are looking for.

Test pipes tend to induce rasp into the the exhaust note...especially when combined with headers and exhaust.

I personally have Berk HFC's and love what they have done for the exhaust note...Again though it depends on what you are looking for. I was looking for a slightly more aggressive than stock sound.

I second Joe's answer...HFC. But That is just a car nut opinion...no a professional.

Berk HFC's dont throw a CEL. A lot of people like the Fast Intentions HFC's as well and I believe they wont throw a code. You can also get a screw in type extension for the O2 bungs that will eliminate a code with stock sensors. Again man.....its just what do you want. I didnt want my g35 to sound like a civic.

Also, what are you using to tune?

Right now, yes. In the future, no. I will go either HKS or Ingen true dual set up.
