Power window not working
Ok so now I have a little issue that maybe you guys can help me with. I noticed that when it is could outside I have to hold the switch to get the windows to roll up. When I try to us the auto up it stops and returns down which I assume is a safety feature. Earlier this week I washed the car good and while I was waxing had the windows down. I got in it today to roll the window up and the drivers side window is completely non responsive. I can hear the relay clicking but no motor. Do you think the motor burnt up or is there a fuse that I am unaware of. I had the door halfway tore apart but did not get into it to far because I am unsure as to how everything bolts together with the window. Any ideas?
I had the same issue about a month ago...My window got stuck in the down position though...and would NOT come back up.
I tore the door apart and pulled the motor out. What you do is take the motor apart. You will need to separate the two halves and pull out the armature. You will see two metal contacts inside where you pulled out the armature. They are called brushes. You will need to make sure they are clean of debris (mine was really gunked up). Do a good job cleaning it up and and spray some lithium grease back down into the gear and put it all back together. There is a procedure on how to reset the anti pinch mechanism once you get it all back together. if you search you will find it...I don't remember off the top of my head but it was easy. Get in there and go for it!

Actually Brian the more I think about it, your problem may be the switch relay. I noticed mine was acting a little funny when I had it pulled out...almost like there was a bad connection. If it is that, that is super easy to change out. I am not sure how much it costs though. Don't quote me on that...I am a plumber, not an mechanic lol.
