good luck, I've painted a few things in the garage and there always seems to be some particles that get in. maybe I'll make a booth like that, seems functional.

I'm wondering however if your setup costs (time/money) aren't approaching just going to a nice body shop or actual paint shop and getting it done. I know your material costs are likely lower but the opportunity cost of the time you are spending? I dunno. Unless you plan to do a whole car, seems like a lot of setup for a single piece. Just my .02

Good luck to you Joe, you're a ballsier man than I.
As of now I am in for about $450...that includes the purchase of a paint gun that I didn't plan on. You are right that I could have taken it somewhere and had it done. Probably cheaper and in less time as well. But, I chose to undertake the project because

a.) I like to do things myself. How many guys do you know that can say they sprayed their car themselves? I am all about the learning experience and future application.

B.) I will hopefully realize the savings once the rest of the car is done.

C.) I am a perfectionist...I seem to remember one of our members removing some blue painters tape and his fresh paint job coming with it...I know that I will do a quality job to the best of my abilities.

And I can! So why not?

I like it. I try and o everything my self as well. And learn more every time. Thats why l like helping everyone else out. I build fine furniture for my house and it costs me more than I could get at the local store but in the end mine is always better because of pride. And thats what you get when you do it yourself. Great job maybe you could teach me when your done. I ahve some stuff I want to paint!!

My compressor stores enough volume to do the bumper. I will be running two in tandem to do the rest of the body. Not ideal But I can make it work.
