Even without pictures this is pretty simple. The only (known) no good parts are: The RH door, the RF fender, RR quarter panel, RH lower A-Pillar, and windshield. The car was T-Boned in the right door. Big time T-bone.
The right front seat seems to be under pressure from the door trim pushing it inward. But aside from the fact that the seat side airbag has deployed, I think the seat is OK / functioning. The right side curtain airbag deployed. The vehicle has had the busted out window covered so there has been no weather on the inside of the car.
A life event has happened and made available my father's garage. So, I'm about to drive the car to the Ringgold, GA. / East Ridge, TN / Chattanooga, TN. area, from the south side of Atlanta. A 140 mile drive. The car still drives just fine. Every single system on the car works. All lights work. The tires are not rubbing anything. The engine makes great power and good mpg. It will make its final drive north wonderfully. It's quite a shame really, but such is life. Once there I will drop insurance, and register the replacement G35 I have already procured.
Once at my father's house it will be put in his garage. At that point, I will have the engine and transmission removed. At that point, let the scavenging begin. The engine has 120k on it. It might actually roll to 121k on the way up there. I may wait until I get an actual serious buyer for the engine before removing it ... in case someone wants to buy the car as-is. It would make an excellent racecar of some sort.
The title is clean and clear. Once the crash happened, I had my son crank it up and drive it home. Liability only and his fault, so I have never involved my insurance company (for his vehicle), hence why the title remains with me and is clean.
The only thing I may do is swap the rear spoiler from this black 2005, with my other son's 2006 G35 spoiler. The 2005 spoiler is better looking. I will have to do some research to ensure they are easily interchangeable. That's it for now.
Interested parties let me know what you're interested in. If interested in the vehicle as a WHOLE, ya better speak up quick!
In the pictures below, the black car IS CRASHED on the right side. The blue car was procured to replace the black one.
AnotherRedG35 - Sorry about being late to respond. I had my dad's funeral this weekend.
Yes it has the black interior. As mentioned in the add, the right front seat seems to be under a bit of pressure from the right door trim pushing the seat left from the impact. But I think the seat is actually OK. I should have tried the motors, but I can do that tonight or later. The right side front seat airbag did deploy.
I'm currently checking with Z1 Motorsports to see if they want to buy the vehicle in whole.
I didn't get to drive it to my dad's house because it was rainy and cold. And the plastic is unbelievably loud above 30 mph, so I peel it off when I drive it ... and it is so much better. I didn't want to deal with the noise or get rain in the car so I just left it where it is, at my house, all sealed up.
The admins are wanting me to verify a car / picture(s) with my UN and date on the car. I'm cool with that, but I just didn't get around to it since I was having to facilitate a funeral. I'll try to get that done ASAP so the pictures will post. Thanks.
Attached is the required picture confirming this is my car and the ad is legit. Also, I checked with Z1 Motorsports. They don't seem interested in the car, except if I were willing to give it to them for nearly free. So it appears the Parting Out shall commence. I will take it to my dad's house where I have available garage space as soon as I have a good weekend.
Plastic covering openings, the inside is still good.
It takes it's final drive tomorrow. North, through Atlanta, to almost Chattanooga. 145 miles. It will be a nice ride. But then it shall be retired. Hopefully most of the major components will go to good use.
Guys - I'm thinking the "engine" does not include the accessories driven by the belt(s). Except the water pump. But what about the wiring harness and ECU?
Is this still available for parts? I am interested in the exhaust system from the Y-pipe back. Thanks!
Sorry hennertime - I decided to have it repaired. It is almost ready to start terrorizing the streets again. It was less expensive to fix it than to buy another.
It will never be 100% straight, but I'm sure it will go down the road just fine. I know because I drove probably 160 miles all wadded up and it drove really nice.
