cnaman...i think i'm a "ricer" now too

i love the stock grille - but only on aftermarket bumpers. i'm getting an oem lip so i got this grille because i wanted something different in the front. if i had an aftermarket bumper i would kee the stock grille for sure.

This one...

is a full-blown race car, I wouldn't call it "rice". Not the paint job I would have put on it, but the stuff on the car is all "functional" from what I can tell based on it being a true race car

lol, half of those cars are being called "rice" for the paint job alone, it all depends on what your definition of "rice" is. The gold G with the TS widebody IMO definitely is not rice, neither is the white one with the greddy front. The first one is a pure show car, not rice. Maybe you have a very skewed version of what "rice" is.

iirc, he considers any aftermarket grilles and body kits rice.

That is NOT rice

Rice are tacky, tasteless, cheap-knock-off mods, usually on cars that do not have the performance to go along with the looks. An example of rice would be heavy, ugly, chrome rims setup with a wrong offset, another example would be a "Type-R" badge on a Civic DX, or a Supra-style wing on an FWD car or a giant universal muffler on a four-cylinder car, or a Wings West knock-off of a Veilside kit, or cut springs, I could go on.

A tasteful JDM widebody kit, Volk racing rims (and god knows what performance changes) is not rice. It may not be your favorite style, but it isn't like he's putting 22" spinnaz on his car.

I don't like the color of this car and the way the lines of the widebodykit are. Yet nonetheless this is far from rice: the widebody is functional, the car is RWD and can make use of wide staggered wheels and the amount of money and time invested in this car was far greater than was invested in putting a wing and a fart-can on an Integra.
