Just Got The New Cam..

I just got the camera yesterday...no shots of my car as shes in need of a wash and wax..so shot some of my buddies cars..

Grant and Cal come in and help me on what im doing wrong

he picked up a rebel xt.

why in the world did you shoot these pics at iso 1600?

that is your biggest mistake. that's why they are all so grainy.

for still pictures, you can probably just use M, Av, or P. i rarely use Tv while shooting stationary objects (though i do do it sometimes).

if you're using a slow shutter speed, then a tripod will be your best friend.

hahaha i had nothing else to shoot..

yeahh as cal said i picked up a Rebel XT and theres no going back to point and shoot digital cameras..

basically the same thing, but you're looking at the XTi.

2 more megapixels, larger LCD, and a couple more options that most will never use.

OP, don't shoot against the sun and don't let trees grow out of the cars.

yeahh i really didn't know what i was doing...been doing some reading and starting to understand each part...what iso should i keep it at during the evening?

try and keep your ISO at 200 or below. I normally use 100 so i get the least grain possible. A tripod is always a good investment for photography.

+1. If you're outdoors and the sun is out, chances are u won't set your iso higher than 200. Setting it to the lowest possible iso is the general rule of thumb. I love leaving it at Av for all my pics. Have fun!
