New Lens + Tripod + Boredom = Night Photoshoot NSX.

Well I recently bought a new lens for our rebel camera and I've always wanted to try night shots. I tried once with the kit lens, but in the other forum I go to, some dude recommended me to get a better lens as the camera deserves it.

Anyway, here are some pics I took last week. Let me know what you think as I want to be better in taking photographs.

Next photoshoot will be the IP G, I promise and with the Antioch local guys hopefully.

Nice job! Looks really good.

The lens is actually way more important than the camera itself. Large aperture lenses lend themselves very well to night photography. Also, a good solid tripod is a must.

If anything, I'd keep the direct light (from the street lights) out of the frame when setting up the shots - direct light like that often tricks the metering system and you end up with an under exposed shot.

Good lookin' ride too

oh wow.. Cool, no negative feedbacks. This is actually my 2nd time, my first one had a quite of negative comments but I received good amount of tips as well.

Yeah the NSX is mine, bought it last February and only thing I've added are the wheel spacers, Type-R shift boot, ****, K&N Intake and cleaning engine bay, removing red hoses and took off the red paint on the brake calipers. The car had too much red. haha..

I'm hoping these are the last pics of my car in red, I really want a yellow NSX but not stock yellow, Lambo yellow maybe

And oh for the lens, I'm using the Canon EF-S 17-85 IS lens. Its so much better than the kit lens and the Image Stabilizer works well too.

Yeah I actually got that same tip, not shooting under the light post so I really tried shooting as far as possible. But these light posts are pretty close together and really bright. Next time I'll find a better place and I'll use the G as my subject.. hehe.

Thanks again guys for the kind words.

No problem man. It's hard not to throw in a kind word or two. That car looks freakin' sweet!

I've been doing this photography thing for some time and all I can say is that there is always something new to learn. The whole digital revolution has made it a lot more fun. It's hard to beat the instant gratification you get with a digital SLR. Feel free to check out my photo site if you want.

I hear yah man. I can't remember the exact model but I did buy a Nikon film SLR ages ago and it was very frustrating and expensive so needless to say that camera went underneath my bed after a month. haha.

I really want to learn more about photography, techniques and what not. I like to think I have an eye on composition but its not amazing, so hopefully in the future I'll develop that.

I checked your photo album. Sick pictures man, I especially love the base jumping pictures. Those are just amazing. wow! And the sky diving picture reminds me of my first time.. (skydiving that is). I can't wait to do it again.. Keep up the good work.
