Hi-5.

Amen to that. Haters gon' hate. I'd love to rock 2 sets, one real and one fake on each side just to **** them off when I go to the meet. lol.

What wheels do you have? I can't say that mine are really expensive, but at 1700-1800/piece, it's quite teh $$$

I always find it funny that people get mad that someone else isn't as financially stable (or stupid) as they are. I think it comes down to people are mad because they spent a WHOLE BUNCH of money on something that looks that same as someone who DIDN'T. So...next time don't spend so much. lol.

I can't speak for 4DGS, but I think it's more a matter of people looking down on posers rather than being pissed that they paid less for a knock-off.

Just saying though...I personally don't care if people buy knock-off wheels and wouldn't rip on them for it, but I would never compliment them on it either.

We are always going to have people getting mad at people for having fake wheels. We are also going to have people getting mad because someone called out their fake wheels. This will go on until the end of times!

This must be an age thing to some extent, the older I get (and I'm past the half century mark) the less "ego" gratification I get from using my car as a away of being noticed or as a status symbol. It's when I define too much of myself by the look of my car and the shallow attention it garners me, that things seem to get personal around here.

Fortunately, mine is stock except for the tires that raise it about 1/2"-- so it's raised and not lowered (talk about violating an unstated G forum value statement or norm).

OP, sorry for hijacking your thread, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity!

I totally agree with you! I am glad I waited for my wheels. All I'm saying debating about this is pointless.
Your Equips are so sick!!!

I don't equivocate being a poser with someone who can't afford 2k per wheel...or who just doesn't want to spend that on a DD. I wouldn't. My wheels cost a hair over 3k and the ONLY reason I got those as oppossed to cheaper ones(even tho they won't be ready till sept) is because I got some back pay for the army and wanted to spend a bit on myself. And whenever my wife sees'em, she'll put me on the couch for quite some time. I'd probably loose the house if I spent 5 or 6k on wheels. Others might be in similar positions. doesn't make them posers. just means they have other priorities.

Agreed! I have two daughters, a how and MANY other hobbies. I don't want to drop 5k on wheels for anything.
