Look near the base of the trunk, where there is a little step on both the passenger side and the driver's side. The driver's side "step" is longer than the passenger's side. If you look at in the middle where the bar lines up with the arm rest (especially on SDGenius's car) you can see it lines up perfectly. My guess is because the "steps" are of different lengths, they give an almost optical illusion that one side of the bar is mounted higher up than the other.
