TLDR version:
The best muffler for making power would be no muffler. Don't get hung up on "back pressure", worry more about exhaust velocity.

Ok I will read this article right now thank you. One question though.. if that were true how come when I had my muffler off for around 2 weeks yes it was very loud but it lost noticeable power with it off. As soon as I put it back on it felt so much faster immediately.

To be honest, I can't tell you why you think your car felt faster with a muffler. A muffler exists primarily to "muffle" sound. If mufflers made more power you would probably see the guys in NASCAR, F1, GT-Cup, etc. using them.

as far as losing power, i noticed no power loss at all. the piping size that was used was 2.5".
