My new ride G35 Coupe in Lakeshore Slate PICS

Just a little background... I'm 19 living in Las Vegas and purchased this car in December two days b4 the 25th. Best Christmas ever It's an 05 coupe with 34k miles. So far the only mod is clear corners and some LED's for the interior.

Future plans:

Wing: Next up is probably installing the stock rear wing. Im gonna get a dealer to do it, they said it would take about 2 hours and they charge $109 an hour for install. Is this reasonable? I'm going to purchase the spoiler myself from ebay.

Tint: I'm not sure what would look best I'm thinking something like 20% all around. It's hard to find pictures of others in LS so i'm still looking to see what it looks like.

Z Tube and Plenum Spacer: These seem like the best performance mods for your $. Once I get it looking good I want it to run faster. I'm 19 with little to no experience on cars as this is the 1st I've owned. I'm probably gonna have to borrow tools to do this but it looks like I should be able to take care of it on my own.

Let me know what you think!

Ya, definitely DON'T go to a dealer to install anything. They charge 2x-3x more (usually) on anything you order. There are people here who installed the wing themselves, but if you're not comfortable doing that, take it to any trusted body shop. Shouldn't take more then an hour to do.

Congrats on the ride.

Thanks. Yeah I was looking at black originally but saw this color and loved it.

So how do I know if it's a good bodyshop? I'm new out here in Vegas plus i'm new to owning a car so I don't have any experience in finding these places.

Again, congrats on the purchase

As for what I would do for now...

1) Leave it spoilerless
2) Get 06 headlights -- they looks GREAT on LS, and all colors for that matter
3) Z-Tube/K&N drop in or Stillen/Popcharger and Plenum spacer - do these on your own
4) Tint - really depends on what your preference is, but I did 20% and love it
5) If you've got the cash, pick up some HFC's, they make the stock sound THAT much better

That would be a good start...

congrats on the new g! +1 on 06 headlights, those and sway bars are the best mods for these cars. z-tube with popcharger or k&n drop-in and the spacer are good bang for the buck performance mods. spoiler - get a shop, its cheaper than the dealer. tint i thought 20% was too light and went 15% this time around.

Just trade your trunk with someone with a wing. There are many members that are looking to go wingless.

def leave it wingless, or if you really want a spoiler trade trunks w/ someone. its usually considered an even trade, since the new trend is to leave it wingless

get some 06 projectors and a z-tube and maybe some HFC and thats it!

I really just like the way it looks with the wing, but yeah i'll look for a trade. How hard is it to remove and install the trunk?

What's the install like on 05 to 06 projectors?

And what is HFC?

Haha sorry i'm new at this.

Sway bars bolt right on? I have to borrow any tools I use so it has to be pretty straightforward.

You have pics of your car with 15%?

Thanks.

The 06 lights are plug and play, you just have to move your ballast from your current lights to the new ones.

Congrats on the ride man. Great choice in color. I'd stay spoilerless, but its up to you.

There are some LS pics here:
