coming from someone that's only 22, i'd wait a little bit. start shopping for insurance and that might make your decision for you. if you have never ridden a motorcycle you should look into motorcycle school (MSF course). but hey, i started out on a gsxr600 at 18 and i'm still alive. it's all up to each individual and how mature or reckless you are.

Look at the Buell Blast. It's small, light and cheap. All the things needed for a good first bike.Originally Posted by jfizz313

Agreed, Cervelos are nice but if you are going to get anything, make sure it is custom fit your body. Gurus are the way to go

For me, it was a good first bike. i dont take chances so it definatly fit my style and looks sick by the G.

Otherwise take a look at the SV650S. Awesome bike and still rips pretty good.
Just dont be a dumbass. unlike having a fast car like the G, there is no second chance on the bike...

I own a 1999 K1200RS. For those of you that didn't know BMW made bikes, it is a 1200CC inline 4, 130hp, single-sided swingarm sport touring bike. Everything is adjustable. The seat, pegs, handlegrips and windshield all moves up and down to accomidate the rider.
There are pics in my Garage of it. I love it and I have found that of all the bikes I have owned over the last 16 years, this one is the best combination of speed, agility, comfort and looks (my tastes that is). Not to mention the saddlebags are great for my Commuting to work (27 miles one way). The last two girls I took riding with me now say they will only ride a BMW from now on.
Here are my Mods...
Remus Titanium exhaust (16 lbs lighter than Stock!!!)
Zentech CHip
Zentech Tinted windshield (shorter)
Clear front and rear turn signals
Upgraded LED tails
White LED body Kits
ThrottleMeister Cruise Control
OEM BMW Navigation Unit
Last year I rode 3800 miles in 8 days through 12 states all along the East Coast. AND if you head to my Garage, there is a pic of a hottie I met along the way that LOVED my bike.
My Other bikes include
1981 Honda CM400E
1982 Honda NightHawk CB750SC (first year of the Nighthawk and I still own it)
1989 Yamaha Virago 1100VX

I'd rather live a short life doing what I love than living longer being miserable.
I've seen my fair share of friends being killed and injured but that has yet to keep me from riding. I myself have been riding for 4 years and I've crashed my bike, dropped my bike on my foot and worst of all rode on a flat rear tire

Wow, now that's nice.
