HDR Dreams

Are your dreams in technicolor, black and white, or HDR?

Thanks man.. much appreciated.. Going to shoot w/ the intention making an HDR shoot.. Do you normally shoot 3 different exposures or just shoot in RAW and change the single exposure?

Thanks man.. I didn't even plan on shooting that day.. Saw the clouds, and I was jut rolling around.. Went to one of my old "trusty" spots, and started snapping away..

#1 is nice

Shoot 3 exposures in RAW. Converting one RAW image into 3 exposures in post processing isn't the same. You may get similar results, but it's not a true HDRI conversion.

Thanks man... Yeah that one is more dramatic because of the clouds..

So you always shoot in raw? or only when you plan to do an HDRI conversion? I did this w/ high quality jpgs, and just shot at multiple exposures.. I was just wondering if that'd even work.. Theoretically, it sounds like it would, but I'm sure the color information wouldn't truly be different.. Just trying to learn other people's tactics to find out what works best..

Thanks Calvin..

Nice shots, twalls.

Always shoot in RAW.
With programs like Adobe Camera RAW, you get way more adjustment over the original image.

Oh... I know the advantages, just never had a reason to need to adjust the exposure to justify shooting in RAW..

I was using to shooting action shots, and didn't want to lose my burst rate and it results in larger file sizes which equates to less shots on your card. I avg 260+ shots on my card if I shoot in Highest JPG quality...

I might have to give RAW a try though since I'm getting more into the manipulation of color information and more set up shots.. I'll see how it works out..

Thanks for the recommendation.
