What are the freaking odds.. you should of bought a lotto ticket...

I always were able to pick my body shop. I also live in TX. Most insurance company has a contract with body shops to where the work would be cheaper on the insurance to pay out.

Not sure how things work over there, but like someone stated earlier, we have the right to put our car in the shop of our choice.

BUT, I know everybody likes to jump on the side against the big evil corporations, but the truth is your insurance will not put your car in a shop that does bad work. If you are unsatisfied with the work done at the shop of their choice, they must take the car back and redo the work. If that was the shop you chose, you're screwed.

WTF you need to fix it in the shop for

Just get a new plastic piece, slap it on and call it a day.

and how did this thread managed to go on for 3 pages without any "mom/lightning" jokes?

Cars body's are designed to channel electricity away from occupants. All the computers and stuff should be fine. Cars body makes a Faraday Cage

R

I was washing my car one time and it started raining. Lightning hit a good 25 feet away from me. Dude. My thoughts on lightning changed after that. Not only can you feel the power but you can smell it in the air.

Anyhow, glad no one was hurt.
