THe Black one with the spokes looks ugly

 

i dont know if im going to continue with this PROJECT, b/c i cant find a new gauge cluster(b.c my current cluster the ODOMETER doesnt work and the RPM gauge doesnt work). I was spray painting the sideskirts black b/c the skirts were faded and noticed like a patch that was covered on the driver side skirt, which leads me to believe if i take that patch off there may be a hole there lol. theres rust here and there and i still havent checked underbody of the car but i bet theres lots of rust!

i think ill just drive this car until next jan/feb and start saving up for a better condition E30 or something.

brian if u decide ur keeping it ill send u my guage cluster you try it and if it doesnt work just send me the cluster back nd ill give u your money back..im pretty sure the cluster works fine

 

I appreciate your offer but after doing research on e30tech your cluster won't work on my car bc your cluster the rpm redline is 7k while my redline is at 5k

 

Since the paint was oh so faded I decided to paint it flat black !!!

Yup straight from a can, the can spray I used is rustoleum car paint(flat black)

 

^ how many coats and spray cans did the whole car take?

 

Autozone only had 4 cans of flatblack paint, I knew I needed at least 7 cans. I ran out and couldn't finish the whole passenger side and rear. I'm going to buy around 5-7 more cans when they get it in stock and coat it a 2nd and 3rd time maybe

 

Did you just spray it without sanding? Im thinking of doing this to my mini truck

 

I sanded the whole car with 400 grit
