Question Interior Lighting

Okay so I really really hate the interior lighting of the G35 coupes. I don't know if all G's have the orange/yellow look for the instrument panels and all the buttons etc but to me, having silver/black/chrome as the main colors, is kinda like being cheated on. I love the shades that go with the cars but as an accent color I want to choose my own! I don't think in any way shape or form that orange/yellow look flows with the G's. Whoever thought of adding that color should be fired. I think "cool" colors should have been the way to go EXAMPLE: neon blue or neon green or a hot red as accent colors should have been the way to go for a "pop" feel to this magnificent/luxurious machine. The soft color of that orange'ish yellow is disgusting.

SO, I've decided I am going to change every damn tiny light bulb and do my research on how to do it all. I played around trying to find DIY videos on lighting for the interior but there really isn't any. I found one, and that was for the clock. Otherwise it's just people bragging about their car looking cool and bragging rights. Why be the blue Falcon? Why not explain how to do it so others may do it too? Sure would be a ton of help to me! I've been looking for a G35 coupe all my life because I always wanted something RWD, Manual, decent on gas, two door, okay on space, has a back seat, sporty yet luxurious, fast but reliable car. The G was it for me, and I didn't find out till I moved to California a couple years ago that this car even existed!

Okay back on topic... if anyone has any input on how to change any light bulb in this car, please feel free to post your thoughts and be sure to leave the type of light bulb it is, product names, amps/volts/ma, pricing, how to take apart something, what tools were the best without damaging the interior and any random encounters you've faced.

I haven't had the time recently to search in depth about some stuff but I did however find some interesting things and I'll explain now.

So what I did find real quick was how to change the Clock bulb.

*Tools needed; Medium Phillips head screwdriver, small Flathead screwdriver, maybe a pair of needle nose pliers, sharp knife, cutting board (kitchen).
NOTE: I didn't disconnect the battery terminal or anything and everything worked just fine for me.
*1st), use the small Flathead screwdriver to lightly pull the frame, that surrounds the perimeter of the clock and instrument panel, just enough to get your fingers under it and slowly apply pressure to "pop" the cover off. There's only two clips holding it down so don't worry about breaking anything, just be sure not to cut your material where the screwdriver is.
*2nd), disconnect the alarm cable that's attached to the cover.
*3rd), use the Phillips head screwdriver for x2 bolts. Can't miss them.
*4th), disconnect the wire to the clock.
*5th), There are two Phillips Head screws in the back, relatively large and plastic. Use the small screwdriver to uninstall these. Kind of difficult to pull out but not that hard really. These are the bulbs, don't worry about breaking them because they are so small that they are relatively impossible to damage.
*6th), You should see wires around the side of them. Pry them up and out with a knife and straighten the wires from where they protrude out the plastic screw, Then pull the bulb out.
7th) This is where it's users choice to go with another bulb like the original with stronger output or to get a Neo Wedge LED. And I'll be honest, I use the original bulb but I'm in the process of ordering a Neo Wedge LED because the original bulb with a stronger output just isn't as bright as I thought it would be. The original bulb type that I use, and doesn't look bad really, is a 12VDC - 75mA - No. 480 (Grain of Wheat Bulb). Made by Philmore and bought from Fry's Electronics for $1.99 for one bulb. Has about a 4" double sided cord (positive/negative) that I spliced as far down as I could. Be careful because about a 1/4" from the bulb it's soldered under the white protection plastic so when you cut it, you could potentially cut strands of wiring.
8th) replace the bulb with the new one and Installation is opposite of Uninstallation.

Wish I had a video of how I did it but I don't. There is one on youtube here that I followed but it wasn't as in depth as I made it out to be, and I did do some research of course.

If anyone has any questions, please ask and I will try to find the answer for you. I would appreciate it if I could get some help as well with anything on your mind.
Thanks -Mike
