Debadged G, Dirty Residue Now?
#16
here is what I did
1)dental floss to get the letters off(the foamy stuff stayed behind)
2)use your nail to scrape the foam backing off(do not use metal or anything that can scratch the paint)
3)once most of the foam is off use goo gone liberally, let it soak and rub with a shop or regular paper towel
4)when everything is pretty much gone wipe with dish washing liquid
5)apply polish(something like Meguiar's scratchx)
6)apply wax(I used NXT)
enjoy your freshly debadged hoopty

I have this NU FINISH SCRATCH DOCTOR, which I don't know will work or not but ill try it. If it does not work ill go to my local auto store and get, Clay bar kit, ScratchX, and NXT. Hope that can fix my problem :O until I get my car polished with a machine when the rainy months pass.

While doing this I saw how dirty my car really is. I really want to wash it but its been raining everyday. So Ill hold off. But I am going to buy ScratchX, claybar, and NXT to help rid the ghosting once and for all I hope. I have virtually no towels to use for my car, I only have 2 like 5inch applicators and I had to use papertowl lol. I also am going to buy all that plus some car wash stuff, and proper car cleaning towels so I can properly clean my trunk so I can clay it, and use scratchX.
Use ScratchX before or after clay? I think I might skip on the wax since it might look weird with the rest of my car not being washed and waxed.
But I still need a total car paint correction, the dealer left tons of swirl marks!

If after NuFunish it is still there, you might need to power polish it. You could correct it using NuFinish, but please don't, haha. Go get some ScratchX, and try again (use the applicator pad for waxing, and apply uniform pressure, go up and down, not in circles). Monitor your work, hopefully you should get it off. Otherwise, you will need a powerpolish.
Claybar only helps removing contaminants on the clearcoat, if you have fading, the clearcoat is damaged and a claybar won't help in this case. Polish is the only way to go.
I would still wax it, that area will have no protection and more vulnerable to further damage. It might look wierd, but your car is dirty anyways, haha.
If you are getting your car paint polished professionally soon, don't worry about the fading. The detailer should take care of it for you.
