pulled the letters off w/ floss and got the rest off w/ goo gone. then to remove the "ghost" imprint of INFINITI and G35 i just used 3m rubbing compound and a microfiber cloth and just kept rubbing it in. as for the mount fuji... that took a while, i did the same thing, but after 2 days of rubbing that stuff in i just gave up, so i threw the Nissan donut over it and i coul d barely see it as it stuck out. about a week later it dissapeared from the sunlight -_- so yeah, i guess the whole "wait for it to dissapear" thing kinda works. I hear its not that bad w/ IP, but if you have OB it will stick out like a sore thumb :[

after I got my emblems off I used an abrasive a little too much and it took off some clear coat. Are you saying if I have a detailer come out and polish my car that the fading caused by the damaged clear coat will go away?Originally Posted by Asad_A203
If after NuFunish it is still there, you might need to power polish it. You could correct it using NuFinish, but please don't, haha. Go get some ScratchX, and try again (use the applicator pad for waxing, and apply uniform pressure, go up and down, not in circles). Monitor your work, hopefully you should get it off. Otherwise, you will need a powerpolish. Claybar only helps removing contaminants on the clearcoat, if you have fading, the clearcoat is damaged and a claybar won't help in this case. Polish is the only way to go. I would still wax it, that area will have no protection and more vulnerable to further damage. It might look wierd, but your car is dirty anyways, haha. If you are getting your car paint polished professionally soon, don't worry about the fading. The detailer should take care of it for you.

you will need a repaint to fix that. As for next debadge, use a random orbital to remove the residues.Registered User

damn I was afraid of that. I don't know if I want the spot that's faded away gone bad enough to spend $250-$300 to get it reprinted or notOriginally Posted by Urbanengineer
