sxexcx's Custom Grounding Wires // Review //
I installed the grounding kit on my 2007 AT coupe during the week except for the transmission ground. I noticed that the drive by wire lag was greatly reduced. A friend with a hydraulic jack and jack stands came over this weekend so I could ground the transmission. After resetting the ECU I definitely noticed much faster and smoother shifting too.
The pictures and instructions are easy to follow and this is a mod that just about anyone could do themselves. If you have an AT I highly recommend it.

I just wanted to thank Sean for this awesome kit! It was delivered VERY fast, kit was high quality and the instructions were simple. Literally BARNEY style. This kit took me about an hour and a half to install, mainly due to "make shift tools" I had to piece together (but that's another story). I also took a light wire brush to ensure all the contact points were clean. The first thing I noticed on start up was when I turned on the radio. I popped in my new favorite CD and sat in my car listening to it. When I set my volume to 14, it was equivalent to what 18 used to be (my usual volume). It sounded a bit cleaner too. Next, I pulled it out of my driveway and off to the highway I went. I noticed that the throttle response was quicker. Even though I added my K&N filter earlier, it seemed to take the rest of that lag away as if it were drive by cable. Now for the entire reason I bought the kit, "MANUMATIC!" The worst part (to me) of the 5AT is the dreaded lag of the shifter. I have tried doing the resets and while they helped, I still had about 300 rpm or so wait after shifting. This kit reduced it to about 75-100ish and I can say it is a lot more enjoyable now. The hard shifts from 1-2-3 and 3-2-1 are minimal now and I don't lunge towards my steering wheel while shifting. LAST but not LEAST, the red matches the V6 3.5 on my engine cover and accents the engine bay nicely. I can personally say that I am very pleased with this kit, and believe it is worth every penny. Sean is a great guy, and I would do business with him again. If you are thinking about buying this product, don't hesitate. It will make you dance like this after!

I read through the whole thread and definately see myself making a purchase sometime in the future for this, but i did have a couple quick questions regarding the kit.
Do any of the locations and lengths of the cables become a problem with any aftermarket mods or is everything always going to be the right fit no matter what you do?
Like others noted, there are many competitors kits out there and the majority will vouch for Sean's which says a lot, but I was curious how much research you have done with this kit to go with 8g wires over even larger ones like a 4g i have seen or perhaps having a few select wires being thicker if they truely made a difference for those particular locations. Or did you just kind of go with a uniform thickness that was best bang for the material cost and ease of use? Obviously the main thing for improvement is the location of the upgraded grounds and making sure it is a quality wire (which you seem to do perfectly), but I would think the size of it factors in fairly well also.
Lastly, im not really sure how saying that your radio is louder after the install is really considered a benefit because that would all just be relevant to a random number on the display. If its not to your liking, just adjust the controls... but if there is a change in quality/crispness of the sound then that is worth pointing out, is that the case or is it meerly volume?
If only this grounding kit could speed up the sloooow sunroof that we have when openening/closing then I think I would be sold right there =P.

Everything I offer has been researched and test thoroughly. Before each product is released, I test it hard in my own car which I have now owned for 9 years (so I am VERY familiar with it). My prototype kit was 0ga just to see what would happen but it wasnt cost-effective. I dropped the kit down to 4ga...no difference from the 0ga. I then pushed my luck and dropped the kit down to 8ga....no difference from the others. The 8ga makes for the cleanest install so I stuck with it and over 1000 have been perfectly happy with the results. I think other manufactures use 4ga just for "wow factor" in hopes that people wont question the truly important factors of the functionality.
Thanks for the quick replies and especially the detailed one on your build process for these kits SxExCx. I've got a few things lined up already atm so im not able to pull the trigger yet, but when you get a moment please PM me a price and colors.
Same exact thing he said! Let me know!
