Coupe midpipe on G35 Sedan (stock Ypipe & Muffler)
#17
If you want a better sound and no underbody modifications whatsoever, go with the 05/06 sedan midpipe. It sounds better than the coupe midpipe and fits like stock. I've had both the coupe midpipe and now the 05/06 midpipe and the sedan midpipe is definitely better. The sound is deeper, more linear, and has no droning unlike the coupe midpipe. The reason the midpipe sounds better is because the resonator is designed to work with the muffler design on the sedan and not the crossflow muffler design of the coupe and Z.

I looked at a video with the 05/06 midpipe sounds a little weak, but maybe its just the recording thats bad. Should i stop being cheap and go with the stillen or something close to it?? My brother has a 06 sedan 6MT do you think its worth getting the midpipe or should he stick with his midpipe?

Full throttle in 1st and part of 2nd
Keep in mind you're not going to get the sound of coupe or Z, even with the coupe midpipe. The reason being the muffler designes are entirely different from the sedan. A coupe or 05/06 sedan midpipe will give a deeper wail, much like E46 M3 at part to mid-throttle. I've had the coupe midpipe and it doesn't sound remotely as good as the 05/06 sedan midpipe. Add the HR y-pipe and you'll get even more sound.
