tein s tech springs

I just got the Tein S-tech springs installed. Ride quality seems not to have changed much at all. It does feel a little tighter steering and a bit of a stiffer ride. To be honest the drop was not as much as i was ecspecting, maybe it will settle a little more but i am def. glad i got the s tech becuase the drop is very subbtle. Ill post again in a week after i get more driving time with them.

Time to install: 2-4 hrs
Overall value: Great value 4.5/5
Review: Post above has my review, since driving a little bit more the ride is slighty rougher, but not nearly as much of a change as i thought it was going to be.

Re: tein s tech springs

I'm in the market for springs as well and have narrowed the search to Tein S tech for G and Tein H tech for Z.

I've read the G S tech was to drop 1.5" (from everythingg35 website). The Z H tech was about 1" on the G.

Did you measure the drop? 1.5" is very noticeable for me.

Looking forward to hearing from you after the week and also seeing some pics!

(Signature soon..)

Re: tein s tech springs

You need to let the springs settle about 2 weeks before it gets to its
optimum height. Then get an alignment done.

I have the s-techs and eibachs on my car...the rear s-tech's
spring rate to me was too low. It's a great dressup mod though.
So got the eibachs on the
rear since the initial spring rate of the eibachs (progressive) and s-tech's
linear rates are both rated at 274lbs/in.

Don't mean to hijack this thread. For tech specs on the Teins, you could check in the Suspension Forum for "Tein Basic vs. H-Tech for 350Z" thread.

Anyhow, if you do go with either setup, please let us know on the ride.

Nutshell:

S-TECH = softer than stock, good for dressup, but rear springs too soft causing understeer.

Eibach = similar to stock, good for dressup and some perf but front springs too soft causing too much front roll.

S-TECH front + Eibach Rear = similar to stock, great for dressup and much better cornering response than Eibachs alone. I recommend this setup to anyone looking for a
comfy, great looking ride, and gain performance benefits.
I don't feel the need to get swaybars on this setup (I don't
auto-x).

Either one you go with, you will need to get an alignment. I highly recommend you get rear camber adj rod as my camber was way out of wack on the rear without it.

Eibachs and H-Techs

Where can you purchase just front or rear springs if I was gonna install the S-techs up front and Eibachs in the rear? Also are the Eibachs you mention the Prokit or Sportlines?

Lastly when I get it aligned will I need to buy any kinds of adjustment parts or is what the installer can do all I will need?

Thanks.

I bought 2 sets. The rear are Prokit's. The alignment shop will determine whether you need more camber adjustment on the rear or not. Take it in after the springs settle...wait about a month for it to fully settle.

You can take it in earlier, but you'll end up taking it in again. I found that
I needed to get rear camber adjustment rods on my car.

I would agree, IF there were coilovers offering spring rates low enough
for the ride I was looking for. the lowest I saw were 400lbs/in (CS).
Im running in the low 300's with adjustable struts to match.
