It does give it a nice roar, but I think the rough interior surface helps to also amplify the high-pitched whine you get with any CAI mod.

Overall, I'm happy with it. It looks great with a CF engine cover and is a nice complement to my Motordyne 3/8" spacer and Stillen CAI. It will hold me over until the entire intake gets replaced when I eventually go TT.

Are the thermal transference properties notable? That was the first thing I was thinking when I saw it - looks nice, but unless it has a functional purpose I will stick with Z-Tube... now that you mention it's positive thermal purpose I'm think it might be worth it. How 'bout the CF engine cover? Do you think it dissipates heat well enough to recommend it as well?

the cf engine cover would not dissipate any heat. it may be more resistant to to heat, but it will still trap the air over the intake manifold. it just looks better. the heat properties are a non-issue here.

That's what I figured - but it does look good... So the CF intake tube must benefit from its thermal abilities since it's more heat resistant. Have you noticed any marked improvement?

by 'marked' i'm assuming you mean noticable.... then - no. nothing noticelable. but then again, i'm not taking into consideration the heat soak of a hot humid day sitting at idle, then gunning it. as far as gains, i didn't notice any when i had it on (i took it off and put my aem cai back on).

I have the same cover and was thinking of doing something similar. Looks great!

z engine cover

Yes, It's the infiniti logo from my G35 Engine cover.

i cut the two pins & get it off with the help of flat head screw driver.
It was on double sided tape, pretty sticky.

I stick it on with 3m double sided tape.

I have a new carbon fiber Z tube that I bought from UT that Id like to sell for $100. I actually bought both the Z and G tube because I didn't know what I was doing. I installed the G tube though, and I need to sell the Z Tube.

Asking price $100 though I paid $140. PM me.
