Love the Z-tube so far

Had my z-tube on for about a week. Very quick easy switch out. Nicer smoother sound hardly any louder at all. Sounds like its supposed to. I cant believe they went to the trouble and cost to design that baffled g35 tube for what little quieter it is. Still running stock air box.

Thumbs up

I installed the the Z-Tube and K&N Filter last week. My City MPG has increased by 2 to 16 (according to my Nav), I'm not sure which mod contributed to the gas usage improvement but the car is more responsive and sounds great.

The easiest 30 minute mod.

I put in a Z-Tube with stock filter still last week.

Honestly, maybe I did something wrong but I cant notice ANY difference in performance or sound whatsoever. I cant possibly think of anything that could have went wrong in the install though, allthough this was my first modification/work on a car, I have an extremely good amount of experience working on dirtbikes and quads so I dont think thats it..

BTW: The Ztube cant possibly interfere with the AC line, I think people are confusing that for something else, I believe the pop charger.

So you buy the Z-tube and an OEM replacement K&N Filter (not a conical one)?

Any places with this bundled?

Thanks.

I just got my Z-tube in yesterday and installed it. I have to say, the car sounds absolutely amazing now compared to the old tube. I can hear the difference at 3500+ RPM, especially in second gear. It has a great growl to it now. Power of just the tube may be minimal. I can't decide if it is just a placebo effect, but it feels a little faster. I did notice a distinct difference when I went to the K&N drop-in from the stock filter.

I'd give these mods a 10/10, easy considering it all cost about $120 and 1/2 hr total to do.

I bought the tube from PerformanceNissanParts.com. I took about a week to get to me UPS ground. I'd recommend them so far, though for now this is the only thing I've ever ordered from them (I have clear corners on backorder with them )
The filter I just picked up at my local AutoZone. No, it is not the Conical Filter, just the square one that goes in the stock airbox.
I haven't seen the two bundled anywhere, but they don't install together anyway, so it doesn't really help to get them together.

Stillen CAI

Will my 03.5 G35 Sedan Stillen CIA fit on new 05 G35 Sedan? Loved the sound and little more zip and smoothness on the 03.5 in the mid-high rpm range. Easy install as well. The web site says the fit is for 03-04 models.

Get (1) extra K&N filter when you order so while the first one is drying, prior to oiling, you can install the second.

Z tube K&N Combo, took your advice!

I have spent much much time going through the threads trying to decipher what the best cai option is for the G.

I took the advice of the old timers on this forum and went with the Z tube K & N filter combo. Ordered it last night. A little nervous about installation, but even being female, I here it is a piece of cake.

The weather here has been in the upper 90's and I feel my car will benefit from this combo. After much reading it sounds like a majority if not all CAI's out there, cost more and cause a low end power loss.

Now I just need to wait on the Grounding Gear buy.

I have the Z Tube (aluminum) & K&N filter combo on my G35C. I'm very happy with the results although minimal. The performance is very good versus most or all of the CAI costing up to $300. The install is straight forward.

Great mod. I'm happy w/ it
Just make sure that the z-tubes metal pipe clamp, the screw portion that tightens the clamp is on the engine side, so it doesn’t rub against the AC line. I added some wire looming around the ac line just for extra protection, but theres a good 1/4 inch space anyway.
