Megan Racing Resonated Test Pipes
Background: 2003.5 6mt Coupe, 18,000 miles
Z-tube, K&N, Motordyne 3/8" spacer
I bought these off of ebay for $95 plus shipping
First Impression
When taking these out of the box, i inspected them and they look like a quality piece. The welds were obviously done by hand and were kind of ugly, but they looked like they sealed pretty well. The resonator looks a bit smaller than the Kinetix Resonated pipes, but they are 1/3 of the price so i cant complain.
Install
The install was a real pain in the *** to say the least, but easily doable if you have any experience working on your car. Took about 2 hours using only hand tools. The hardest part was removing the rusted bolts from the 3 bolt flange that does to the header. I had to do some tricky wrenching in those points and even if i did have an impact gun i couldnt have fit it in.
Sound
Sound was much deeper at idle, even had that slight gurgling sound that you get with V8's. Keep in mind that i have a stock exhaust and y pipe. When revved at idle it sounds a little too ricey for me, but when i start to get on it under load then it sounds fine.
Performance
I definitely felt a bit of a kick, didnt really feel any low end losses either.
Overall id give this mod a 7/10, the exhaust stinks a little but i think most of that is the oil they use when they make the pipes. Recommend for anyone who doesnt have to pass emissions (I love indiana).

They threw my CEL on day two--Driver side pipe was defective (internal tingy sound-resonator weld loose.) Rasp at 2800 I could live with for the performance gain but after paying $100 for the install I was extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. Although my installation vendor would have happily reinstalled a new pipe Megans racing was non responsive.
UPDATE: The night before I had my Kinetix cats installed the passenger side pipe BLEW APART on I-95....THESE TEST PIPES ARE TERRIBLE QUALITY--DO NOT BUY THEM!
I highly recommend you Buy the Kinetix or Crawford cats and save yourself the time and frustration.
