Megan Racing Resonated Test Pipes
#17
I just had these put on yesterday. I couldn't get the bolts off the oem cats, so I got a friend at Nissan to do the install for me.
First impressions:
There is no difference at idle, and it's a tiny bit louder at cruise. When I get on it, it has a deep and angry sound, a lot like a V8. I love the sound. I'm not sure about power, since my rears are so bald, they're borderline illegal. There is some smell, but it's not bad inside the car. My friend that drove behind me said he could definitely smell it though.
Fitment and clearance is excellent. I have the non-fouler fix, but my friend advised me to not install it, because the megan TPs already space the O2 out of the way. After 1 day the car has not thrown a CEL yet, but if it does, I'll just bring it back, put on the non-foulers, and have the CEL cleared. I love having friends at the dealer
EDIT: CEL came on after 1 day. Going to do the non-fouler fix soon and see what happens.

i think im about to go with the megan racing catback exhaust.. i personally think this exhaust sounds really nice.. one of my friends bought this exhaust and the y pipe and hasnt had any problems with either..
Megan Racing (CAT Back - no other mods)
the muffler and mid pipe are like 400$ and the y pipe is like 200$..
what do you guys think of this.. any of you have the megan catback?

I've had my Megan Racing Pipes since January over 5k on them, not a single problem. Also have their BBK (1 track day, 4 autox's on them, and hard daily driving sometimes) and the pads still have at least 90% left.
People say Megan products suck, I beg to differ. People need to give them a better chance. Every company has some defects, I've seen more than one type of test piple come apart..not that rare.

Like the review. I am definitely a fan of Megan as well. I have purchased lots of their products for my G, but have not used all of them because I have gone in so many different routes and kept changing my mind
Currently using street coilovers only but I have had the headers, test pipes and y-pipe. IMHO they are a great alternative.

i got a 03 sedan with indivia test pipes, coupe middy, and a magnaflow muffler. my right test pipe cracked right around the 02 sensor. not to mention the rasp is not my favorite so this week i'm buying Megan racing resonated test pipes and well see how it goes i hope ok, because like u guys said Megan racing has been notorious for cracking parts makes me a bit worried but i guess well see.

Ive had my resonated megan test pipes on for about 5000-10000kms and so far no problems! I autox, drag, and do lots of highway city driving. I spent 190 on them (shipping was a bit) but overall I think it was worth it considering the low price.
I have the Osiris Tuner so I just disabled my SES light for the 02 sensors and other than that the low end power you loose from 2000-3000rpm does suck in city driving. Also as someone else said there is a vibration around 2800rpm that can be felt.
