Kinetix Resonated Test Pipes

OK, I'm not an OMG!, holy crap! kind of guy. But these have made POWER............. OK, lots of power. After leaving the install shop, the Service Engine Light came on within 1 mile. DAMN, I thought the 03.5's weren't supposed to do this. So, I think that it must be the residual oils etc. in the pipe and the packing in the resonators. So I drive 70 miles and then reset the ECU and idle learning with the pedal. No more SES light, and does not come back on, so the volatiles are burned off and O2 is happy. Then I take her for a spin and DAMN! this thing revs quick now. If it wasnt for the VDC being on, I might have ended up facing the wrong way on the onramp. This thing hits frigging hard after a downshift, neck snapping hard. I cant believe it. Must be the Stillen cat-back, Test pipe combo.

OK, the downside. LOUD, LOUD, LOUD. Not raspy, or ricey at all, just powerful/deep volume. I knew it was going to be, but hoped that the resonated version would be more acceptable. WRONG.

So, going to take it to my homeys down at the exhaust shop that installed the Stillen for me and see if some 30" resonators can be installed in place of the 14"'s that are there now. I dont want to give up the power, it rocks, but the sound needs to be tamed. WOT is just amazing, DOES NOT sound like a 3.5L engine, more like 5.0 and torques like it too.

BTW, while at the install shop, the owner said next week they will be doing their first APS TT install and said to come over and check it out. If I like what I see, some FI may be in my future. They are a good competent shop with many exotics being modded. For around $10K installed, my sedan would be an unbelievable sleeper. Looks totally stock on the outside except for the tint.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new..with the test pipes you dont get a check engine light. If you dont do you have some type of module or something that tricks the ecu because I know alot of times at least with my rsx it came with that to trick the ecu. Also where and how much were the test pipes? Thanks in advance!!
