WTT: Trade my Volk GT-Vs for your stocks - South Florida

Update: 8/21/2011: Wheels are not for sale anymore. I got them refinished and decided to keep them for now. Leaving the thread open for reference and before/after pictures. Mods, please move to general forum if necessary.

Yes, the quotes were for all four. There's one shop in Davie and the rest were in Miami. PM me for info, not sure if I'm allowed to post it here.

I had to have my GT-C's refinished (polished) due to the same mishap. I was charged 250 per wheel and now they have to be polished on a regular basis. Too bad I could not work a deal with you on my GT-C's I really love your wheels.

Sounds like they didn't clearcoat them properly. Also $250 per wheel sounds too high. There's a Volk distributor here in Boca and their prices are usually on the high side and even they quoted me $550 for all four. The average price from a few shops in Miami was $400 for all four.

Hey man! I'm not actively trying to sell it at the moment, but I want to put it back to stock in case I find a good deal and have to trade it in. I have a feeling though that I'll end up selling it privately. Either way, I'm going to miss it!
We should go back to that Hooters one of these days. Those girls were hot! Plus I need to see your G in person, those wheels look so sick in the pics.

You can't properly clear coat a polished wheel. To get paint to stick, you must sand the surface. If you sand the surface, they will no longer be polished. I had my barrels done by a company in Mia also. Volkswagen will not refinish them. They were anodized from the factory and they claim the finish cannot be restored. I still love your wheels. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I see what you mean. I was told it was possible but not necessary to clear them as long as you use a good sealant and keep them waxed. Check out this thread and the last few posts about Zoopseal for sealing polished surfaces, might be worth a shot for you. Good luck

Got the wheels refinished this weekend, they look brand new! I'll take more pictures and post a new thread after washing the car. Here are some quick cellphone pics:
