My Car Got Keyed Tonight!

i don't have any pics. just needed a place to vent. i went to subway tonight 7 p.m. on miramar parkway and 172nd today. ordered 2 subs to go. when i got back to my car, BOOM, there was a line extending from my front driver's side door to the rear fender. i don't understand why anyone would do this. no "incidents" driving there or parking with any other cars... just put my volks on 2 weeks ago, so this definitely ruined some of my new excitement.

by the way, luckily it wasn't too deep. i was able to remove (or hide) a lot of it with some turtle wax.

Sorry to hear that.Sometimes I feel people are jealous cause we have a nice ride. Our car got keyed in our complex last month. They were paving the lot and we parked down the street.I pretty much know who did it and was gonna give them a big fat payback, but what comes around goes around.Luckily it was only thru the clearcoat and I buffed it out.Ive got some stuff that goes pretty deep that might help you get the scratch out.Let me know if you need anything.

It's called Scratch-Out. Well, that's what I use, anyway. I've gotten quite a lot of clear-coat level scratches hidden with it, even on black. But, if it's deep, you'll need something more--a pro. I'm sure Joyride can recommend some good stuff, if he's willing to share.

We all feel hatred, but....

Haters....I don't understand how they think, but they must be angry as hell
to destroy someone else's property. I got cut off the other day by a white
van where I had to throw the binders on 80% to keep from hitting him. He
parks close to where I'm parked and gets out of his van with his family. He's
Asian not even 5' tall with his son that's maybe 2 years old and he's buying
his son a cookie. Inside I'm thinking Oh crap, how can I stay mad at this
little squirt and his kid, so I walked away not saying a word. I guess I just
considered the source and the anger I felt went away. Anger only hurts
those that let it control them....make since?

IM sorry to hear that! I dont know why people are like that. The good part, is that it wasnt too deep....At least you dont have to get it repainted....then you would have had to deal with insurance and deductables....

That really sucks when they do it and you can't figure out a logical reason why. Years ago, with my old car, I got keyed at a Barnes & Noble parking lot (only a 4" long mark, fortunately, but through the clear coat) and I spent a good 4 hours touching it up with touch-up paint and wet sanding. It wasn't too noticeable from a distance, but it still sucked. I figured either someone didn't like my car or they were mad that I took up 2 spots (there were PLENTY of spots around though--pretty empty that night--so I didn't think anyone would care). Either way, that was years ago, but I doubt I'll ever do that again.

No problems with any women (and I hope my wife doesn’t think that). This just seems like a wrong place/wrong time deal… thanks everyone for the consolation. In the end, it’s just material…

This subject seems to come up a lot or maybe more than I can understand. Most times the victim seems to genuinly not know why it was done. I don't go to any other car forums but does anyone know if this is as common for other comperable makes? Maybe like BMW or Audi?
