So 14 months and 19K later.

I finally got the letter in the mail. This is the Second car that I have paid off and actually kept after paying it off. The other 7 cars I paid off to sell to someone else. I figure I am good for at least a 50K mile distance before digging into something else. The last payment was for 5700.00. I just had to tell myself think of the 5K in intrest I wont be paying over the next 6 years.

As celebration I bought the Ichiba camber kit front and rear. (Front tires are wearing out again.) A couple things I need to service new rear struts, and fix the driver window motor. So my weekend plans consist of installing the struts, and camber kit and getting it alaigned afterwards.

I also purchased a new laptop (dropped old one) and a new desktop (dads OS got wiped out by virus) so it was an 8K week.

Expensive as hell but I am at a zero debt balance.

Well I am tracking via UPS the kit is en route so some time today it should be here. (Sunday the car may still be in pieces). I had planned on an overnight (last night) to get 3 days off it got cancelled so now I am working friday.

I spent nearly a year prior to purchasing just saving the money to buy the car. I managed to accumulate half and with work promotion I was able to earn more to get the other half. So just think I spent nearly 2 years saving and not doing jack S***.

I am already back in to save mode. I figure I am going to have to save for at least 3 years to go for my next car. (hence the 50K miles).

You guys are way braver then me to go all out on a car that still is bank owned. My fear is something to happen to it and not be able to recoupe the financial investment. I have had to make payments on a car I could not drive for 8 months while it was being repaired. Talk about frustrating catching rides and riding bikes (19 at the time). On an up side just don't think about what you will have spent on intrest. Or you may just say forget it and wipe the slate clean.

Cars are always a losing proposition financially, and when you put modding in the mix, it's basically one big money drain. Problem is, a lot of people get so wrapped up in the community and lifestyle that they start putting mods on credit, buying irresponsibly then having to sell the parts weeks down the road to pay off bills, going FI before it's paid off then getting in trouble when it blows, etc.

Seen it happen too many times, but I guess if they're willing to pay the price for instant gratification, then whose to stop them?

high payments dont bother me since i have the income. something happens to the job then car has to go. financial loss on the car will be nothing compared to the overall life impact. plus compare a car to a mortgage and this is nothing. so what if i pay a couple grand in interest when im looking at 5-10x on a house.

I just got my camber arms delivered. They were signed for by F. Porch.

Its a good thing I am friends with my UPS driver ( he also delivers to my Job).

They have a red anodized pearl paint on them. And I already plan to replace the zinc bolt with grade 8 for the rear camber. As for the front A-arms I will be replacing the set screws with stainless steel to boot. I just don't trust the moisture around here and I won't be setting myself up for failure. Whats a couple more bucks in hardware worth at this point of the game.

Thanks again.

Oh for the mortgage thats next on the list hopefully I can find something decent in my area. (me myself n I) so a 2 1 is more then enough for me.

Congratz on the car, I can't due payment plans unless its on a house! Giving away money to a bank jus kills me. Slapped the dealer with a 1 time payment and got a good deal too 22.5k
