Tires gripped very well... I just didn't get the performance I expected. I did launch at 4500 rpm, below 4500, wheel hop a bit,, etc.. The truth is that it was mainly testing, trying new ways of launching with the new wheel/tire set up. I was really expecting faster ETs. Maybe if I get around tuning the car, it may help get better ETs.. My clutch is saying good bye too. I'm amazed at how long this one has lasted. I'm looking now at a 6 puck ACT disk without springs to see how it will do. When are we going to see videos of your car ???

What 60' times were you getting? The unsprung 6 puck is going to have a harsh engagement, especially for street use. Why not the sprung 6 puck? I put down 1.7xx 60' times on a 50K+ mile ACT HD PP with the full face street disk on DR's.

2.076 on the best run. The rest were similar. I was getting about the same with OEM wheels and tires. I probably have 30 k + miles on Exedy clutch w/ organic disk, but I've been to the track many times... I'm a little more than an occasional racer with over 80K miles in my car (NA by the way) .. The wear on myh clutcht has to do with the way a pull out of the whole. I have not yet decided on which clutch, sprunged or unsprunged, but I think it will have to be a 6 puck type.

hahahahaha he said the way he pulls out of the whole!!!!!! Oh well carlos getting used to the slick combo is tricky. You weren't launching that hard however your rpms were up there enough. Seems like the way you launch may be killing your clutch. When i leave the line in engage really really hard. That was the only way i broke the 2.0 60ft barrier. However i also broke the axle that way as well. You just have to feel it out. Talk soon guys mike

I don't think it has anything to do w/ the DRs. There's no doubt my clutch is going because I flare it rather than to dump it. This is how I found the car pulls out the hardest/fastest. Check the 60 footers even for boosted G35s. They are mostly in the low 2 seconds for 60 foot. It is just a heavy car and needs rpms coming out. If you pull out below 4 to 5k, you'll probably hop and be lucky to get something below 2.0.. The clutch I'm planning to install may bust the axles but I have to do this by trial and error..

I never really liked jus dumpin the clutch... I always feather it in when racing... but then again my wheel set-up sucks for gripping...
I too wanna change my clutch/flywheel... Lookin at sumthin simple like a jimwolf combo...

I feather the clutch out when I launch at 4-4.5k rpm. I would get consistent +/-1.8 60' times. Something is going to give, I'd rather it not be my axles.

I meant to feather...correction...... This has proven to me is the best way to come out of the hole. Having Mike APS' testimonial only supports what I'm saying. I have not seen too many G35 racers come out of the hole high on rpms and this accounts for low ETs many times..
