if i were you, i would go out and measure the exactly distance btwn where you pulled out and where the accident happened. If you say it was 20ft, now im not sure of the law, but I would think it would indeed be your fault. At 40-50mph, 20 ft is nothing

20mph is roughly 29ft/s, so if it was only 20ft gap, he would have only had 1 sec to react. now you would think thats plenty but again I dont know the actual law, something you should find out. But sounds pretty close to me if it was only 20-50ft

well i just guess the footage.. but it's probably more than 20 feet.. because i was fully out of the turn..

thats what i'm saying, i know you guessed it but if its a poor guess and thats what you told the cop, then of course he's gonna think it was your fault

to me, its crucial to find out the exact distance
