Question Aero Pkg dealer installed??? -Underbody Aero Side Fairings, Rear Spoiler

This is the $550 list package that includes some under the car diffusers and the rear deck spoiler.

I have located a '05 6MT sedan that contains a premium package, but no aero pkg. The dealer said that they can install it locally.

Anyone hear of this? Is it valid? I thought the only item dealer installed is the satellite radio.

thanks!

The dealer can definitely install the Aero kit. This is the same price they quoted me for my 04.

I figured I'd drive it for a while w/o the kit, then have it installed as an anniversary or b-day present in the future.

I believe the kit comes with the spoiler, diffusers and stiffer trunk strut (i.e. added weight). My dealer told me that it was like a 4 hour job, so they don't make alot of money off the install.

The one downside of adding one after the fact is that you end up with 2 rear brake light warning lights (one in the window and one on the spoiler).

Wink Aero install

It's an easy install if you have some basic skills, don't rush, and have a extra set of hands there to help you. A fresh "uni-bit" is a must, as you have some fairly good size holes to drill. I found that actually undersizing the holes A HAIR lends towards a tighter/better fit and that you should back off heavy pressure on the drilling part, as the trunk lid is thin and could easily dent. Making sure the deck is clean is very important so that the adhesive bonds well to the surface. Watch out that you make eavery effort to get all the drilling flash that falls down into the trunk area by spreading a sheet out and that you rust proof the holes after drilling. A good marine type anti-corrosion spray applied with a Q-tip is a good way. The kit (OEM, of course) comes with the painted spoiler, the two diffusers, and a templet....that's it ....NO support strut or such nonsense. You'll need the blue type of masking tape, some sort of quality anti-corrosion goop, a vaccum cleaner for the flash, a uni-bit (or good sharp drills), and a center punch (not too hard on the punch or you'll dent the trunk tough guy!). And, it's definately easier to jack up the car to mount the diffusers. It took me about an hour and a half taking my time and being careful. You can always have the dealer do it. We do it all the time and charge about $700.00 for the parts and labor. Thank you...JBX has left the forum

Did you notice any difference after installing the diffusers and spoiler? Thanks

Yeah dude ....but not until I was up and over about 80mph on some twisties. Noticable down force. Oh yeah....I also noticed that it doesn't look so much like I'm driving my mom's car LOL... JBX

I'm convinced this aero kit is the real deal. I have it on mine from the factory and I've never driven a non-aero g35 for comparison, but I can say having been north of 100 several times, I am convinced this car has aero downforce, not just zero lift as advertised. It actually gets more and more planted the faster you go. Not a good thing for drivers license points, but great if you need to reel in some road in a hurry. I highly recommend that you install this kit!

I had my Aero Package dealer installed and it looks great! Just make sure they give you all that comes with the package and you are set!

I had the dealer install the Aero Package when my car arrived b/c it didn’t come with it from the factory. In fact, I lucked out b/c the price the sales guy gave us and we agreed upon was only for the spoiler. Since the deal was for the entire package, they honored it and installed everything, plus they even disconnected the interior brake light w/o me asking. Good experience overall.

For you guys that had the spoiler installed after you bought the car, what did you pay ? I ask because when I bought the car they said (i.e. sales) that they install these things all day for $550 out the door. But....when I recently called the service department, they tacked on like 2.5hrs of labor, so the price jumped up to close to $700.
