i could care less about marques and prestige. a car is either a tool or a toy, or both to me. most of my vehicles are purposely debadged, because i don't like the stigma that comes along with a "nice" car, a "luxury" car or a "sports" car. All I care about is that it does what I want, when I want. you like it? Great, thanks. You don't? Thanks, great.

I personally enjoy modifying and personalizing any car that I own, in my own way, to my own vision, and on my own terms. Usually as cheaply as possible, I'm proud of what I can accomplish with top quality parts, for very little cash outlay using trades/barter or adapting or recycling pieces from my other former projects.

If I share information, or pictures of my car(s), it is just that..sharing. Not asking for your approval, disapproval, disgust..witty repart'e..just sharing with other enthusiasts.

I have a lot of actual wrench turning experience over those years to share and offer in trade.. but forums are so tiring.. dealing with elitists, smarta$$es and internet gangstas all the time. GRRR.... in fact I'm not even sure why I'm on here other than I'm just sitting here at my job all night waiting on some trauma to happen...

Back on topic..

researching the TPC supercharger kit on this boxster may have turned me off on it. I was wondering why it had stock puny exhaust manifolds and exhaust on it. Some research reveals that it has the Stillen issue.. headers are worthless, and without a means to control cam overlap it just sends the boost out the tailpipe if the exhaust is upgraded, boost increased..etc. I should have known, same Roots blower. Still the car is pretty cool, and low miles. if I can get to do a PPI on it and the engine checks out I may remove and sell the SC (going for up to $2500 used) and use that $$ to dial up the power on the stock engine (11:1 compression) and turn it for some extra cash, or the next big thing.

either way, very soon I'm going to buy or borrow a wideband to datalog and get the e-tune finished on the G. then off to the dyno to see the final #s on this 6mt. any guesses?

MD 5/16" spacer, Long tube headers, K&N Typhoon cold air, custom catch can, lightweight flywheel, megan y pipe, custom 2.5" exhaust. Possibly the AMS pulleys.. Tuned on UpRev Osiris. I'm guessing 270whp on a dynojet.. less if I hit up a Mustang dyno I know of.

There are way more uglier G's out there. And if you can't read, he bought the car that way.

He doesn't bother me, but thanks for the sentiment guys. FWIW,my buddy sold the Porsche, so on this one goes.

I decided to take a video the other day of a run up thru the gears. IMHO, sound is nothing like a Honda. Just have to kill that 2500 rpm ring from the headers. So here it is, windows down, sunroof open. Easy launch to up thru 3rd.

But I said no offense. .

I said no offense..

Nah for real tho, look, I'm being a d!ck. I do truly want to sway you from buying a boxter. It is..it's just not a good car. Don't buy it. Called for or not, my comment on the boxter was real ****. That car is garbage (and I'm a huge Porsche fan).

I've talked to you since you came on this forum and obviously you're more than welcome to do what you want, but there are some weird things about your car. Ok, yeah, I was a bit harsh, but all the random black and red parts are weird. Can I really see any G as "ugly"? No, of course not, that's not what I mean, but it just seems like you may not have a real vision for it and you're just trying to add cool things. There are some who can freestyle like that, but they're usually gay men who can throw an outfit together out of the **** they have lying in their closet.

Point being is that, maybe you'd fare better by bouncing ideas off of others, cuz collaboration can be greater than the sum of its parts. You've got good ideas, but they may be better executed if you learned from others' mistakes.

Now..anyone got any D!ck jokes?

What random black and red parts? It is an unpainted front lip, on a damaged LR front bumper. It is a Seibon CF hood. Both installed by the PO.

The bottom of the rear bumper I sprayed to look like a diffuser, so what is the difference?

Having just gotten into this car less than a year ago, and fixing all the mods to actually be functional, looks are the least of my worries. .especially since it is a DD and door dings and dents in the parking lot on a nice vehicle really **** me off anyway. Happened the other day on my white '13 durango.

Honestly once I get the tune done I'll find another front bumper to replace the cracked one. Then the car will be dipped. Partly because I crave change and can just peel and spray another color, and partly because the paint is shot now and anything is an improvement. And it won't be any stock Nissan/Infiniti colors. Either way the car will be all one color, and you can sleep at night.

In regard to the Boxster. . Not all of them are trash. Sure it's wasse gekuhlt and not luft gekuhlt, but it was lower mileage and right around the corner so I went and drove it. This one happened to be a 97 and the IMS wasn't such an issue, having the older bearing. I would have replaced it with a kit anyway. Along with a lightweight flywheel, heavier clutch. .the TPC SC was never much, and the fueling system for it was just archaic, firing a 7th injector when boost came on. The car had some pros, but more cons so I passed. He sold it for$7k, texted me and told me to keep him in mind whenever I wanted to sell the G.

Currently figuring out the easiest way to get a wide band in the car to log some runs. I'm ready to dial it in. And auditioning other tips for the exhaust.

No I don't read gibberish or tolerate attitude.

He bought the car that way, so it was not his choice on the red/black combo. Did you read that?

But we get it, you just like being a D!ck. And calling his car the ugliest G35 makes you sound very narrow minded . There are way more uglier ones out there.

You don't tolerate attitude? Spank me, daddy.

Btw, your intolerance of my judgement merely shows your agreeability with my opinion. By simply saying "he bought the car that way" and "it was not his choice" and "there are way more uglier ones out there" makes me believe you feel the same way..but it's somehow just something that can't be changed (in you're eyes). It's not like I'm talking about his skin color, hair color, height, shoe size, etc.

I'd put money on the idea that you're a liberal Democrat. You clearly see exactly what I see but think nothing should be done about it simply cuz it "can't be helped". Sorry I ruined his "safe space" (btw, epik I am by no means trying to eff with you right now; this has nothing to do with you at this point). The OP seems to have taken my comments far better than you have, which is funny, cuz minding your own business is such an art form these days.

Please tell me truthfully (even if diplomatically) what you would say in place of my comments? (And don't say you'd say 'nothing' cuz then I'd have to tell you how you've proven my point).

I haven't done anything new or constructive to the car lately, short of check and add (of course) some oil.

and drive the pi$$ out of it to and from work, to and from the soccer field, to and from the store..

may have some free time this weekend to address the squealing belts and check on the coil pack/oil situation to see if my RTV fix is still holding.

Funny because you are totally wrong.

Far from a liberal Democrat. I actually hate democrats. But thanks for your inaccurate predictions.

And no, I do not agree with you at all. I will leave it at that as this is a thread derailment and your assumptions are completely wrong anyway. But you are entitled to your own opinion just as everyone else.

OP, good to hear the car is driving well. Keep us posted.

I de bugged and washed the old beast today. Although some here might say I'm just polishing a turd, I think it cleans up pretty well.

I did discover that I NEED a new front bumper after finding the driver front cracked now. So I will be shopping front bumpers, preferably something with an integrated lip. And after that I WILL be dipping the car. The LR paint on her is in horrible shape, clear coat faded or peeling or both, stone chips. ..

since this car is like my toy, why not color it that way? With no real $$ investment in it, I can play with it a bit. Dip will be one of 3 Porsche GT3 colors, tangerine, signal green or Mexico Blue. Wheels will match the theme, maybe going so far as GT3 rep seats to complete the theme. Another member here had them and said they didn't work well for him but I'm 5'10" 165# and he was 6'1" and " wider" I think. Hopefully I will be in the sweet spot to fit them. I wish I would have just kept the manual z33 seats that came along with this car.
