I had a ZSpeed clutch kit and HD slave cylinder installed a couple weeks ago and after 600 miles the shifter control rod’s u-joint came off while shifting into 3rd gear and left me stranded at 2AM.

So I overnighted a new rod and shifter boot, jacked the car up and removed the rod but I can’t get to the retaining pin holding the rest of the U-joint. Has anyone ever replaced this part with the driveshaft and transmission still installed? Is it even possible to replace without removing everything again?

It looks like the techs bent the fork trying to remove the tranny for the clutch install. I’m trying to replace it myself to save the hassle of towing it back but I just can’t remove the damn pin while laying on the ground
