The G35 Interior... Renovated

So about a year ago, I came to realize that my baby had seen better days and was starting to look pretty ruff on the inside and outside. I played with the idea of selling her and maybe getting something new, or going on a different, what I believe was an ultimately better path of restoring her. It was a decision I played with for months and then about 6 months ago came to realize she was the girl I wanted Lol. So began the journey of restoration and improvement...

By trade, I'm an electromechanical engineer and never really dealt with body work, interior work, painting, etc. So needless to say there was a bit of a learning curve and some trial and error along the way, but I think it's paying off. I knew what I wanted and stayed committed to achieving a truly professional look (no half ***) and I'm really liking what I'm seeing today and what' she's become (at least in my eyes). While I still have a few touches to make inside and out, even as is, I am completely happy. The wife even likes it

To do this - the entire dashboard, door panels, center console, etc. were completely removed and several pieces further taken apart for a flawless look. Everything was cleaned, wiped down with acetone, sanded, washed with soapy water, dried, and painted black or wheat (previously brownish gray / wheat). Also had to repair my dashboard cracks, holes, etc.before prepping. Afterwards, I let all the parts dry for 3+ days and then reassembled everything.

I really think the two tone contrast and pops of shine/gloss give the G a much more updated Hi-end look. Like it could have come from the factory this way, if it were still being sold today. Let's just call it the 2018 edition interior lol...

Ladies and Gentlemen, check her out and let me know what you think.
EDIT--7/16/2018-- Added a few before pics to illustrate the difference.

BEFORE (Not my car, but very similar)

DURING - KNEE DEEP IN IT

AFTER - INTERIOR SHOTS

EXTERIOR (In progress, thread coming soon)

DAYUM!

Perfect OEM+ look on that interior. That must have been a ton of work, but judging by those pics it was totally worth it!

I think the entire car looks fantastic. Interior is gorgeous, the drop is perfect and I really like your wheel choice. There's one thing I'm not fond of but it's a personal taste issue and I understand why you did it. Can you guess what it is?

Thanks. Yeah it was quite a bit of work. In all, it took about 2 weeks to get to this point putting in about 4 hours a day, but I love driving my car even more now lol. So yes, it was definitely worth it to me!

Wow. Thanks a lot. Glad you approve!
Now... If I had to guess on what you don't like I'd say probably the SKYLINE floor mats?? I know there are mixed feelings on that topic. And you know that you can't get custom floor mats that say "INFINITI" on them, outside of the factory ones...

I'm I right, lol?

Thank you. Usually I just sit back and enjoy the show, but I shall try to. Guess it's about that time.

Looks awesome! Wasn't sure about the 2-tone steering wheel in the second shot, but in the full interior shot it looks great.

Looks great. Meticulous detail. Like steering wheel. Did you recover that yourself?

great job! The steering wheel looks fantastic! It's probably one of the best recent examples I've seen on this forum.

Repainted a bunch and added new leather wheel stitching.

Looks absolutely fantastic op! I did the same thing. Started August 2017 and finished the performance mod's a few months back. I've owned mine for 15 years.
What did you do with your dash? Mine has several cracks and I think my only option will be to have an interior pro. wrap it and the tops of all 4 doors in black leather.
