Burnout with an auto?
One more note, I don't think it is possible to do a standing burnout in an auto, where you are spinning the tires in place. This is because the ECU will limit the throttle while the brake pedal is depressed.
So besides minor tranny wear, and major tire wear-- brake torquing wont really mess anything up to bad?-- My tires are bald man, And i've always said I've wanted to do burnouts before I got new tires.

Not really, my friend in his Volvo Neutral dropped alllll the time and it never did a damn thing, lol......... thats only because its a Volvo [too smart to kill itself].
Just pull the ABS fuse and whatever else... then burn out... auto Zs do it all the time

is it even possible to do a standing burnout without the use of a linelock?
I tried side stepping (heel/toe) and dumping the the clutch with the VDC off, and cant get a decent standing burnout. Looked at the oneline diagrams of the service manual, the throttle, abs, and vdc are linked. so engaging the brakes would cut the throttle as if ecm was thinking the car was losing traction on the drive, all the while knowing the VDC isnt fully disengaged.

ahh bringing back memories of that burnout boy with the AWD G Sedan who came onto the coupe forum and wanted to peel out (dumb*ss)
Step 1 step on your brakes
Step 2 rev to 3000 rpms
Step 3 let go of your brakes
Step 4 Immediately after step three floor it
You know what else is fun and you should videotape, turn off your VDC, turn the wheel and repeat steps 1-4 plus hold it for 8 seconds
