-BBQ at a park somewhere in Orange County. we will announce within a week.
-Oct 21.....I'm guessing around noonish
-If you come, you must sign up by Oct 14, 12am. If not...there will not be enough food for you. You may bring a guest.
-If you come, you MUST bring something. If not....then pitch in for the food and/or your friend(s).

ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!!!
I just spoke with Lawrence (Firedawgnla), and both him and I have come to a conclusion that El Dorado Park would be best. He checked out all three parks for us!
A BIG THANKS TO LAWRENCE!!!!
Why you ask......
1. Dana Point....since Lawrence is a firefighter he talked to an officer (real cop), and with the amount of people that we have etc. Some people may receive a ticket, even if you parked in the parking area.
(So scratch out that idea)
2. Huntington Central Park.....too may cops patroling the area!! Shocked Enough said! Grin
So that brings it down to El Dorado Park in Long Beach off the 605 (near Long Beach Town Center). But the thing is that with the amount of cars/people we have. We need to reserve a spot, and that costs about $150 for all of us. Plus this also guarantees us a spot with a grill, etc. Or we can just show up, but we need a permit. Lawrence has all the details on the permit etc. We both think that the idea of reserving a spot would be better. This way there is no hassle etc. (FYI - parking is $6 per car for the whole day.)
So if we do end up reserving a spot. We concluded that it would be ideal to collect money from people upfront. (Within the next week or two). If you don't pay, then not BBQ for you! Wink But also, as far as the food, we were thinking of just collecting some money for that too! Because since Lawrence is also a ex-marine/army....I forgot which one? Anyhow....he can get food for us with no tax added! Grin Of course Lawrence will need some help. (Are we allowed to come on the base with you Lawrence? I'm guessing not.) Anyhow...but the extra money....if we do have it left over. We can donate it or some of it to Lawrence for gas etc. Thanks again Lawrence! Grin

We will need to collect about $20 bucks per person. (But we will have an exact figure once we get closer to the final date.) For $20 this will include food, yummy BBQ, drinks (not alcohol). BYOB if you want to drink alcohol.
Unless anyone else has any a park in mind. Lawrence was suggesting a state park.

May I make a suggestion? I suggest... Huntington State Beach? Off of PCH and Magnolia.
I've had quite a few car meets there with no issues, no speed bumps, lots of parking spots... $10 parking, but have to bring our own grill. There's firepits for BONFIRES, if that interests you guys.... Plus it's at the BEACH... how more SOCAL can you get?
(Very few cars were parked there last time I went 2 weeks ago.)
