hey Derek - we were talking about you at the BBQ... noone had seen or heard from you for a while - I was thinking maybe you were oversees or something... hope to see you at the track soon! How's the car doing? Is the new setup working out?

I don’t know anyone that drives daily with DRs. As far as I’m concerned unless you have an actual race car it’s futile to me what anyone’s car does if driven on the track in a way they don’t drive on the street. That’s just me though – I know a lot of you guys have your criteria at the track and sometimes that includes DR – I’m not suggesting that’s wrong – it just doesn’t do anything for me.
I think DR's are a great investment; it saves unnecessary tire wear on your regular street wheels & obviously yields better times. If you wan't to know what it does as a daily driver, then just look at your trap speed. DR's will yield better ET's, but they hardly ever affect your trap speed; atleast nothing significant. Your trap speed is probably more significant than your E.T if you are concerned about how your engine mods are affecting power.

I know im way more consistent at my trap speed than my E.T because E.T's are more driver influeced (60ft, shifting) whereas trap speeds are more "fool proof".

I'm definately looking into a set of DR's when I have money to spare

PS. I'm sure you know many of these points; im just stating my stance on DR's.

Don’t forget the Dec 1st thing is the same day as Nissan's Performance thing which is in conjunction with Team Transports Toy for Tots and performance thing the following day...

I'm not 100% sure the 1/4 track will be running on the 1st (even though the website says so - maybe they haven’t updated it)... if someone has time today or tomorrow maybe they can call and ask what the schedule is for the remainder of the year and mention to them the Nissan thing on the 1st - I'd hate to get a last minute surprise and have CA Speedway say not racing.

If in fact the 1/4 isn’t running on the 1st - this Sat might be one of the only chances for a while... ???

I would think it depends on severity... is it a spider crack or running across the windshield... the rule of thumb I would use is: if you could get a ticket for it, they very possibly will so no runs for you.

I have very minor pits in mine it's no problem... the track is more concerned about liability and safety - if they is a chance that your windshield is going to give way at nearly 100mph it could be an issue...

What happened anyway?

if you want to meet-up at IHOP, be there around 5:15-5:30ish. Takes a good 40 minutes to get there, going the speed limit. Any later than 5:30 meet-up, I dunno bout that. I'd rather be there just a lil earlier than usual and be one of the very first groups to get in.

Sound good?
