anyone successfully removed the oem 6mt shift ****? i know the 06's had loctite from the factory and i've read about holding the shifter still while unthreading the shift ****, but after removing about 3 layers of skin from my hand (damn pliers) it still remains as stable as when i started

Try wrapping the **** in an old towel and using a pipe wrench or something that gives you some leverage. It will come loose. Oh, and make sure to turn it counter-clockwise.

not worried about messing up the oem ****, only replacing it because it is peeling already...might have to try a monkey wrench cause i couldn't get it off with 2 pair of pliers, couldn't find any vice grips either
