andy.........i will be doing more research as the week goes by........but as far as i have read (including the last thread you just posted
) the reason for the 4th gear pull for an AT is the 1:1 ratio for the gears.......i dont see how the gear choice will make that much of a difference tho....but will keep reading

just take a snap shot of it. sorry im a noob. but exact numbers are for me being all stock is . max power is 234.12 the sheet is kinda gay but someone told me 228 ft lbs of torque. 96.25 F, 29.86in H-g Hummity 35% SAE 1.02 yeah

i wish one (1) bolt-on would really make a big difference in performance.....so far only the crank pulley did the trick for me..........all the others have contributed somewhat....no neck snapping changes can be felt with these bolts-ons i have so far.........BUT, the combination of headers, crawford CATS and Injen exhaust....well lets just say you hear me before you see me now
and i still need to reflash the ecu to feel the benefits from the free flowing intake and exhaust mods i have bolted on....so the jury is still out for me

after doing more research here, I did see that you are a DIY guy. Looks like you are a good source of knowledge for us Houston guys.
