Dyno in Houston????
Hey guys........I am looking for comments on a good dyno in the houston area.....there seems to be about 3-4 shops i am aware of.....homie went to 1 that didnt seem to produce good data
.....so anyone know of an experienced dyno technician that knows what he/she is doing?
also can you provide the recipe for a good dyno? i have never done this before and need some guidance (i know about the 4th gear run, i have an AT).....maybe a few of you G riders want to join me this weekend?

carboy, SGP, i think auto logic. are import shops with dynos and they are skilled at what they do. SGP is a big nissan supra crazy horse power shop. carboy has been in the game for many many years. and auto logic has an excellent tunner and he always uses dyno's to tune. so hope you hvae a good experience with them. and where did you get ur diamond sub done at? can you PM me a location or did you do it yourself where did you get it at? thanks
Hey Roger I've been told at the last meet over at Red Robins that SGP is the best place to go for Dyno....As a matter of fact i spoke with the guy there named Shawn about getting the G's a could price for dynoing their cars....I was thinking Sept meet? Let me know what you think
g35_foo.........thanks for the info., i knew about sgp and carboy but not autologic.....i will probably give sgp and carboy a cal tomorrow for the 411........
i purchased my sub at http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/ but i searched around first....i always enter the name of the product "Diamond Audio M6MKII10D2 10" Car Audio Subwoofer Dual Voice Coil" (or something close to that) and then type the word "reviews" or "compare"....which usually returns a bunch of websites....look for the ones that actualy compare prices from different websites......i usually find the part for much less than advertised that way....i paid $155 for this sub in 1/05
are you going to the meet this weekend? we could hook up if you like and chat
whats up Ryan?........i will let you know how it turns out with the dyno.....might try to squeeze it in before the meet, or just meet you guys in G town.....i'll give u a call if i am going to make it and i'm late....find out where you'all are at!

robbdogg.........did everything myself, including the headers

researching, learning, deciding, buying, anticipation........then the install is all part of it for me......sure i would like to make the car faster, quicker, but the process of getting there is more fun actually
.......
i wish one (1) bolt-on would really make a big difference in performance.....so far only the crank pulley did the trick for me..........all the others have contributed somewhat....no neck snapping changes can be felt with these bolts-ons i have so far.........BUT, the combination of headers, crawford CATS and Injen exhaust....well lets just say you hear me before you see me now
and i still need to reflash the ecu to feel the benefits from the free flowing intake and exhaust mods i have bolted on....so the jury is still out for me

Ryan....installed it last weekend
ok guys..........here it is....a little disappointment and confusion for my first dyno
....but it was 102F with 32% relative humidity and when i asked the "technician" if he had any training he said "why no, anyone can run this equipment"....it was dynojet run at carboy in houston
i have a 2004 5at and all 3 pulls were in 4th gear........
so.......it seems that i have bone stock hp and torque numbers with about $2100 worth of performance mods.....ztube, 3/8" spacer on the intake side....headers, high flow CATS and Injen exhaust.....i am still going to get TS to reflash the ecu to "dial in" these mods.......but the dyno seems a little suspect to me.......the a/f ratio seems rich.........there is a dynopak up north at sgp racing that i am considering for a comparison.......how about some comments? I could use some positive comments tho

and shooter didnt read the thread all the way but SGP dynos is more of a "realstic" dyno. reason is its bolted to the hub so some type of resistence. as to the conventional in the ground down since it alreadys spins ur tires it some what gives you less resistence. i talked to emotiongear about it and thats what he told me. oh and on the dyno pac you can see what your power is on up hill, down, hill, top speed, and a few other things

Hey Shooter - I am a total novice at interpreting these charts - but looking thru some previous posts - shouldn't the AT be done in 3rd gear? Here's a post talking about it...
