Anbody in Albuquerque? Have some dealer questions.
I think there are a couple people from Albuquerque on here. I just have some questions for those that have bought their car from Garcia Infiniti. Since they are the only dealer in the state, are they a pain to deal with? Is it worth trying to negotiate with them or should I just look at Grubbs or somewhere else out of state? Just looking for your experiences with this dealer. I'd rather keep my business here, but if I have to look elsewhere to get a good price, I will. I will be in the market for a 6MT coupe hopefully by October-November or by March for sure. I'd rather have an '05 so I can get a model year end deal so I'm hoping for the earlier of course. I actually may have to go out of state anyway as they don't currently have any 6MTs and who knows how many more, if any, they'll get.

They were actually really good to deal with, one of my best experiences by far. At first I thought they were horrible because of a jack *** of a dealer they have their, but I just went back and had a great experience. If you are gonna wait that long, I would wait for an 06 if you can, especially if you are waiting until March.

I'd rather go after a better deal on an '05, if I'm able to, when the '06s are coming in since most of the changes aren't that big of a deal to me. Either way though, I will have one and I will be happy.

Actually you shouldn't have any trouble getting an 05 even if it is in March but the 6speeds are hard to find around here, I had to order mine. If you are ok with taking whatever they have on the lot, then I wouldn't be worried, but if you want something specific, then I might try to buy a little earlier than march.
Speaking of, anybody in Nor-Cal know of dealers with an assortment of 05 6MT's? Here in Roseville they only have one DG and it has over 200 miles on it. I knew that was going to be the problem now that they're running low on em but dang, I don't want to spend $35k on something someone has already taken to 7k like 20 times instead of breakin it in right? Am I being too picky or would you do the same thing?
One of the reasons that I went to Garcia (along with the fact that there's no other dealer for 400 miles) is that my wife drives a QX-4 and she's had great treatment from Garcia service. I've taken my 05 G35C back for its first oil change and a couple of times to deal with a faulty CD player, and their service was pretty good (only problem was lack of follow up phone calls when parts came in).
They refused to bargain at all when I bought mine, It's the only time a dealer has just flat out refused to deal on price with me. I made an offer about $1500 below sticker, and they just said no, it's sticker price we don't bargain and they were quite willing to let me walk. They did give me $500-700 over book value on my trade.

I have also been reading that the '06 6MT won't be out until January or so. Is that true? Why wouldn't they release them at the same time? If that's true, that means they'll still be getting '05 6MTs well into the end of the year and the prices on those won't fall until then even though the AT is out, right?
Thanks for all the feedback so far guys! I really appreciate it.

I was just down there on Thursday getting my Oil Changed, and talked to them, said that the 06 MT's won't be arriving until Jan or Feb at the earliest. You definitely won't be able to get them to budge on the price on an '06, but you should have some luck on an '05.
Yeah, I went over there on Saturday and they said the same thing about the '06s. They said they wouldn't budge on the price of a 6MT. I don't know if they'd feel different closer the end of they year or not. They give me all that crap about surveys and market analysis to find out what the customer wants to pay and thats what they put on the sticker.
The prices on the ATs they had looked like MSRP to me. I refuse to pay MSRP or "sticker" for any car so I'll be shopping out of state. I'll see if they will match the best offer I get first though, because I would rather buy locally. I did drive the red '03 6MT they had on the lot though. That's the first time I've driven one and WOW...what a car.
Did they put on your clear bra or did you get it somewhere else? How much did that run? I'm definately going to want one.

Actually, this is what made the price not so bad. I got them to give me the clear bra for free along with a few other goodies like wheel locks and tint. Plus the service there is great, treat you really well.
I used to live in ABQ when I got my coupe. Keep in mind they only have a small allotment a month. 7 Coupes a month when I purchased in '03. I think they rarely have any 6MT's on the lot for purchase. If you want a 6MT you will have to put your deposit down and wait. If I remember correctly they place the orders 3rd week of the month.
Good thing if you live in NM with the tax for cars. Far less expensive than most places.
For the other incentives, clear bra, tint, etc. They used to go through Tint & Trim Factory for that. They use 3M tint. If you get CS (Color Stable) tint you shouldn't have an issue with interior mounting of a Sirius or XM antenna. The Neutral Tint they offer I found out is a residential product and you can not mount a satallite antenna on the interior. I have not had any issues with the 35 Neutral but if you live elsewhere and need a repair you may have a challenge as it is a residential tint.
After you get your coupe you have a lot of roads to open it up on . . .
PM if you have any other questions I can help with.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, they said they get and sell about 10 coupes a month. I am definately happy with our tax rate on cars (as happy as one can be about having to pay tax anyway
). I see what some other states have to pay and that would definately suck. Can't wait to finally get one. Hopefully only a couple more months.

Speaking as a customer, Garcia Infiniti is an outstanding dealership for service and they are (unofficially) mod friendly, especially with Billy Scribner, who can--and does--do just about anything with the G. Speaking as editor in chief of Sport Z Magazine, we have one of Billy's/Garcia's cars, a heavily modified G35 Coupe, slated for an upcoming issue.
That said, you probably won't get much in the way of discounts, especially on an '06. Personally, I got my G35 from Grubbs as they are a big supporter of the magazine. The buying process was simple, super quick, and the car showed up at my door a few weeks later. Great deal, too.
Garcia, on the other hand, has been ranked among the top Infiniti dealers in the US for service, and I imagine they give preferred treatment to all their buyers (which could be especially important to those who decide to modify their cars). Even the dealer himself, Carlos, warms up once you get to know him.
Either way you win. I'd definitely recommend Grubbs if your local dealer was a pain in the rear, but that's not the case with Garcia. Who knows: mention that some editor in chief dude from Sport Z Magazine sent you and you might even score a small discount (seriously, do it)... See you all in the waiting room. I'm the guy thumbing through a stack of car magazines.
