AutoLogic is a Joke!
I'm posting this here to warn others in the Houston area who may take their car to Autologic at some point in the future to have parts installed, tuned, looked over, etc.
As most of you know I was having the ATI Procharger installed on my '04 Coupe. I had the car at Infiniti getting the blower put on. I trailored the car to Autologic where Tom [formerly www.lightspeedperformance.cc] installed the GReddy eManage Ultimate. Brad, the owner of Autologic did the fuel stuff. And finally Jason, who tunes at Autologic, [tried] to tune my G.
I dropped the car off at Autologic the weekend before the Jan 13th meet. I told them it needed to be done before then. Somethings happened and I needed to overnight some parts from ATI, no big deal. They arrived Wednesday or Thursday and that should complete the fuel system and it can be put on the dyno. As most of you know, my car never made the meet. Jason calls me around 11PM on the 13th and tells me he is headed to shop to start tuning my car. I get a call at 2AM saying he won't be able to get to it.
I said OK and let it slide, afterall its not something that should be rushed. So I waited, and waited. I never heard back from Jason and when I called I would have to call several times before I could get him to answer.
We got the car on the dyno the following week and it did not run right at all. After some time trying to tune it Jason let me know I needed to ditch the MAF and get a MAP to read pressure, not amount of air. So I overnighted somethings from StreetImage [who kicks ***] and everything arrived perfectly and prompt.
As far as I know the car sat at the shop for nearly a week before anything was done. I told Jason I wouldbe done at the shop on a Sunday [forget the date] and he said OK and that he would be there working on some things. I couldn't get ahold of him so I decided I would just drive down to 610 and 290. He wasn't there. I took a nap in the truck for an hour and a half and he still never showed. By now I was getting angry. I had stayed with Jason the night before for 12 hours while my car just sat there and he worked on others cars and not mine. I left at 2AM.
I called Jason Sunday evening [finally got ahold of him] and told him that if the car was not done by Tuesday at 8PM I would have a trailor there to pick the car up. He agreed and said he would have it done. I go to pick up the car and he says its done- but there were some problems:
-- Its throwing a code for Nissans form of Vtec
-- The injectors were maxed out
I bought bigger injectors and a fuel pump - neither really necessary for the kind of power I would putting out with the stock pulley, etc [only about 350whp]. So I couldn't I couldnt understand why the injectors could be maxed out. He gave me a OBDII scanner to use that would clear the check engine light from the 'vtec' and I had to do it everytime I started the car or the light would stay on and it would not run right above 4000RPMs.
I leave and immediately the car doesn't feel right. It doesn't idle smooth, the shifts are real rough, and the air / fuel ratio is going crazy. I get out on 610 and merge into traffic and give it maybe half throttle, the sound and power is there but the A/F Ratio again is waaay to lean and doing things it shouldn't be doing. I decide to get all the way on it once and see what it did. 3rd gear, 3500 RPMs, roll into it and it throws me back in my seat like 1st geat used to. Still running really lean, like upper 12's. Not good. I behave until I make it to 45 going North and get on it once or twice more to compare RPMs to Boost and A/F... I hate it, I don't like how its running. I make it home and me and my roommate got for a ride, I floor it for him and watch all my gauges.
Over the past week I putter back and forth to work and let it try to adjust but it still runs funny. At cruise, depending on how my foot is on the gas I can make it run 10.0 A/F Ratio [gauge is maxxed out on rich] or lean, all the way into the 15s [gauge maxxes out at 17.0]. If I keep the A/F at 10.0 at cruise, around 40mph and put the car in say 3rd gear and roll into it the car leans out until it gets into the 15s or so and then richens up as I get the pedal to the floor, but still only goes to 12.5ish, when I told them I'd like to see the A/F more around 11 or 11.5 at WOT [wide open throttle].
Also, the belt on the back of the blower broke, Jenn was there to whitness that one. So right now the blower isn't working period.
Autologic charged me 210 for the install of the fuel pump and injectors and ontop of that 200 more for dyno time... when they didn't even put the car on the dyno. Jason charged me 830 for various things like dyno time and tune, plus welding the bung for th 02 sensor, the gauge install etc. - The car doesn't even run right and they want to charge me that! The job still isn't complete!
The car isn't what I asked for at all, the A/F is way off, it won't idle, there is a huge vacuum leak, the belt broke, and there is a HUGE delay in accelleration, ontop of all that there were also 10 miles on my car that weren't there when I dropped it off [had 16,610, had 16,620 when I picked it up] I NEVER gave then permission to drive my car on public streets.
I talked with Chris [who ownes the yellow 350Z that has the4.3L stroker and widebodied] and he to is taking his car out of Autologic and giving it to another tuner. We've both wasted thousands of dollars at this shop and are both having the same problems. We are never priority but are parked in the back until others are waited on 1st and we are the last ones to be tuned.
Do NOT take your cars to Autologic if you want anything done right.... Now I have to go find another tuner that will need to look everything over. Its like starting back from scratch....

dang, sorry to hear about all your problems, and thanks for the warning. I've learned that if you want quality work, you have to take it to a reputable shop who has a PROFESSIONAL relationship with their customers.
Man...10miles extra on your car without your permission....that would have driven me nutts...lol
hope you get it straighten up...cut your losses, learn and move on. Gluck man

Does Kyle still work at SGP? This was a while back when they first opened shop. I havent been in the scene since and was curious if the original owners are still there. Very good people.

damn that sucks to hear. Tom at lightspeed was the person who installed my TT kit and "slightly" tuned it. well as most of yall know, b/c of his improper installation of the wastegate lines; the boost controller didnt work properly. Also his improper installation is what caused my passenger side turbo to get backed up in oil. the oil return line pinched, backed into the turbo, then backed into the manifolds, and even partially into the cylinders.
on top of that, tom's "tune" ended causing my car too run too lean and i started detonating horribly.
i hope you get this resolved.
