Re: Ztube-Popcharger VS AC line *pics*

It'll look better by the end of the day tomorrow when I take out the Ztube and do it well...
but sorry Dennis, again, I could car less what it LOOKS like cause its under the hood. I know our opinions differ greatly on this but in my mind Id rather not have a leak in the A/C line and rather not have my Intake sucking in 190degree air

Also, another thought on this situation...I coulda swore me and Dennis checked this when we installed it and it wasnt touching...and Dennis said he thought Todd did the same thing...plus catatafish fixed the problem just to have it drop back against the A/C line....i think the flexabilty of the Ztube causes the problem over time. So, keep an eye on it Dennis

That's the foam piece that I was talking about, but I think they make it for smaller diameter pipes. Are you sure that's the smallest you could find the foam insulation in?

the smallest Home Depot sells is for 1/2" copper pipes...

I wouldnt doubt if they make it smaller but a place like home depot would have no reason to carry it.

I finally just used a zip tie that pulls the A/C line towards the right side engine bay more. We'll see in time if the zip tie can withstand the heat because that A/C line gets very hot.

Re: Ztube-Popcharger VS AC line *pics*

Just posted in tech forum:

I was just present at my 4th ztube popcharger install (Neffster, Dabomb, me and MarcG). Here is the problem:

The heat shield bracket is too long. This forces the heat shield to the right so you can't get the popcharger over to the left enough to clear the AC line. I didn't have this problem because I didn't install the heat shield.

Solution is to drill a new hole in the bracket in order to slide the heat shield over. The popcarger should stick straight out in line with the ztube. Not cocked to the right.

Will have pics later.

I have injen and i have about an inch if not more of clearence for that line, but the the pipe coming out of the radiator is against the tubing, but I don't see it being a problem.

Re: Ztube-Popcharger VS AC line *pics*

There was a guy at the track with an injen, and his AC line was about to be cut. He said he didn't care because it's a leased car. ? ?

The injen bottom bracket would just need to be adjusted if it were rubbing. The guy can take time out of his life to race, but not spend 30 seconds to loosen a bolt and move the thing over? Whatever.

It seems to be a thing to look out for with any new intake.

How about taking your own pictures and posting them instead of attacking the original poster that was trying to help, and has helped a lot of people.
The pictures that are there do their job, they're just there as a reference, it's not surgery.
