Theft On the Rise...

Well here in South Florida (Miami) I've been seen lots of headlight assemblies being taken.

Saw 2 Porches, 3 G35's, and a Mercedes, with their headlights stolen.

Be on the watch, they were mostly done in the Kendall Area (by Town and Country 117/Sunset/Kendall)

Re: Theft On the Rise...

Just woke up the other morning to scratches all over my headlight, hood, bumper, and fender because some stupidass tried to steal my lights. If your going to steal them at least do it the right way. What kind of alarm did you get, was thinking about autopage.

Re: Theft On the Rise...

I went with a Viper 791XV.. it was kind of expensive unfortunately But in the end.. it's one of those things I'd rather try and avoid. My Sedan is Diamond Graphite too.. maybe they are targeting them? I saw the ****** when they tried to steal mine.. it sucked.

Re: Theft On the Rise...

I didnt see who did it, just woke up in the morning and saw my car and messed up. Im still deciding on an alarm, was thinking about the clifford RSX 3.5, Viper 791XV, or autopage. Im not sure which to get... Any feedback an those?

Re: Theft On the Rise...

I've been hearing about this problem from my factory rep at the dealer. This seems to be really common in South Florida for some reason. They're swiping them off of FX's as well.

Unless you start seeing a lot of custom cars with G35 headlamps, I'm sure they are stealing these for the transformers and bulbs. Bulbs for these things are around $200 each in some cases. I'm thinking these are going onto a lot of Civics, Corollas, etc.

Unfortunately, unless you set a proximity sensor VERY SENSITIVE I don't think an alarm is going to do much good.

Re: Theft On the Rise...

I actually have a buddy of mines who installs alarms. He told me he would put a sensor on the light itself as well as the proximity sensor and should do good.

Re: Theft On the Rise...

Geez, first the Maximas, now us. What gives! Are there any preventative measures that anyone knows of to keep our lights on our cars other than a aftermarket alarm?
