Yes, my local Infiniti did this to my car!!!!

Took the car in for a simple oil change, and some minor warranty work (windows, noises, etc), and this is what happens!!! Turns out the guy pulling it out of the garage hit a truck that was backing up.

Any suggestions on how to handle this? Obviously they are replacing the fender and bumper cover. Sorry about the quality. I used my PDA phone for the pics.

Sorry to hear about that. I would think the dealership would fix it.

Yeah, they've already stated they will fix it good as new. My only concern is the resale value. I told the guy I can see myself coming into this dealer a month from now, and their own dealer trying to knock of $2K on trade-in because it's been worked on and repainted. He assured me that with this only being cosmetic damage (no chassis or powertrain damage), that it won't affect the car's value. I'm actually seriously considering telling him if that is the case, lets work on a trade now, and upgrade to a 2005. While I hadn't financially planned on it at the moment, it may be worth to get rid of the risk altogether while I can. Not to mention the bargining power I'd probably have at this moment, on a 2005 price. Given the current circumstances, I'm sure I could work a deal on a 05', at dealer costs. Just something I'm considering.

I think you are good either way. I get pissed too when this sort of thing occurs, but you know what? It's to your advantage, either way, you are coming out ahead. When they replace your bumper cover, say goodbye to any paint chips you had, or scuffs, etc (perhaps you didn't have any if you have a clear bra). Or, get a hell of a deal on a '05. If you hadn't planned on getting a new one, just have them fix it, just be **** as hell about it, and they'll do it 100%. If it were me, I'd get a few names, save all the receipts from the work, and leverage them like hell for a GTR when it arrives.

You are right on mbr. I can't really complain about getting a new front end!! I wouldn't mind getting an 05', but I think I will wait until at least 06 and see what I want. I definately won't forget about this when the time comes though.

awww man, that is depressing to look at. What is the loaner car situation from them?

you should at least see what they would do on an 05 before you make a decision.

Cool! Yeah I wouldn't go out of my way for a new one or anything, but you'll have their ******* if you want a GTR or anything else in the future
Good luck with the repair my friend.

Well if you take it in for a quick lube oil change, they don't get you a loaner b/c it's supposed to take less then an hour. So while I was there, I had them look at some of the other little annoyances that I was talking to you about a little while back (window again, clicking noise from the tire, and startup grinding noise). B/C they had to look at all that stuff, they gave me a loaner. They are pretty good about not being picky with their loaners. I've had one everytime I taken it in for service. Every time it's been a G35 4-door. I was only supposed to have it like a day or 2, but now it looks like it'll at least be a week.

Oh and BTW, the startup noise is normal. It's the timing chain tensioner. Read a couple threads here about it. The clicking from the front right wheel well is supposely b/c my pads are about worn out up front. And just like the driver window a while back, they are once again replacing the passenger window motor to fix both window problems. Oh yeah, and did I mention they have to replace the passenger quarter panel and front bumper cover!!

Well I would, but I'd rather go for the 06' Hopefully they'll have some of the other options that are on the M35/45 in the 2006, like the bluetooth for cell phones and stuff. I sat in one of the 2005 Coupes today up in the showroom. I admit I didn't like the interior in the pictures, but it's A LOT nicer in person. I like it better then ours now. The real aluminum trim in really nice!!

[QUOTE=G35TR]Well I would, but I'd rather go for the 06' QUOTE]

i went to dealer today to test drive the 05 g35... she said there wont be any changes btw 05 and 06... she says maybe minor things, but nothing big in the body of the car... she said changes usually occurs after 3 - 5 years... this 05 was the best of their releases, etc etc... so 06 and 05 are same...

Well I got my car back earlier this week, and I gotta say, they did a really good job on it. Hell, it looks better now then it did before it went in. Mainly because I no longer have any if the rock chips, swerl (how to you spell that??? )marks, etc now.

They replaced the front passenger fender and bumper, and painted the hood. Also I think they replaced the headlight. Eitherway, like I said, it looks a lot better now then it did a month ago!! Here are some pics:
